Drive through Nevada a few times and it will make your thoughts on the place will change. There just isn't enough in Vegas to make up for the rest of the state.

play a little bit, since its your first time have a $200 budget. Walk away from the table if you're down $200 or up $400. Make that a rule.

Also, go to the bars and talk to women, don't waste all your time being a gambling low-life.

Meh. Not if you are barely in it.

I've had a suite the last two times. A badass one at Bally's and actually a King strip suite at Planet Hollywood that was going for close to 300/night over the weekend while I was in it (got it comped). But I also had a regular king room at PH during the week before I got the comp. The suite was nice, but no way in hell I would pay an extra $150/night for it when I was only in it a few hours a day/night, 95% of which was while I was asleep.

To me the most important thing is staying center strip. But that is also because I like to go out all night and hit the pools during the day.

So, really depends somewhat on how much you plan to use or be in the room.

Open Containers in Public Since this issue is left up to the states, the laws and penalties are quite varied. Even so, possessing an open alcohol container in public is illegal for the vast majority of the country. A handful of exemptions exist in the following regions: the historic district of Savannah Georgia, the Power and Lights District in Kansas City, the Strip in Las Vegas, the French Quarter of New Orleans, and Butte Montana. All except Butte, Montana have some type of restriction on the container type or size.

quote:

On the Las Vegas Strip in Nevada, the law allows the possession and consumption on the street of any alcoholic beverage in an open container throughout the year, although the container must be plastic for certain special events such as the 4th of July and New Year's Eve.[7] Because Nevada has no statewide public open container law, local law governs. Although open containers usually are allowed throughout the rest of Las Vegas, they are prohibited at certain times of the year, except in the Strip

The restaurants are the main draw for me and my wife likes the shows....besides that I'm a little old to be partying at the newest club or hanging out at a pool with a bunch of skanks in bikinis and heels. I can see how that would be fun for 20somethings though.

would you not just rather go to nyc? all the restaurants in vegas are just knockoffs of what's hot in ny and they got all the latest shows too

my sister moved to portland a little over a year ago, and it's been awesome being able to visit her and eat at all the new joints. If it wasn't so weird out there, i'd like to go stay awhile.
