I didn't expect Liverpool to do this well. I thought they would do better than the previous season but I was expecting that they maybe get 4th or 5th

I think most of us thought ideally we'd be competing for 4th. Probably finish 5th.

I would be interested to seeing how well Liverpool does while playing in Europe again. I think with the current team and the extra games they finish the league in that 4th or 5th place.

BR has said 6 new signings. January money (none spent), CL money, and summer money should be enough. But yes, I suspect 4th.

6 net signing, or just 6 signings while selling four others?

Because I think we need about 4-5 new players for the squad to handle the extra games and injuries, not including a 1-3 coming back from loan that hopefully will be up to getting some playing time.

People forget that even without Europe we were down to Brad freaking Smith playing at Chelsea and had to piece together our center backs for a 6 or so week period.

I think it's a 6 net... we've got to add depth in both the back four and in the midfield this summer or we're in trouble next season

i figured 3rd….

i knew ManU was headed for a disappointment, and Arsenal would do an Arsenal…

Man City and Chelsea with their loads of cash and their ability to buy the best were the teams i was concerned about and it ended up more or less like i thought it would…. knew we had talent from the mid field and up, but our defense was lacking and would let us down…. and sure enough, that was exactly the case...

I have a bit of concern about how many of our guys will be without a real break with the World Cup. Guys like Gerrard - will they have a full tank when the season begins? Will Sterling burn out a bit? Will Hendo's amazing legs keep churning game in and out?

It was huge for us to be top 3 and avoid having to play our way into CL so early in the year.

In a WC year, and with no viable squad depth, this was massive.

On the bright side, England shouldn't make a deep run.

True - but its not 10 extra days i'm worried about. Its that they don't get to start resting now. At least most of the rest of the top teams are dealing with the same.

I know they'll be called back into camp later than the other players, but still.

You could have played your youth team and beaten Tromso or whatever team from Latvia you would have matched up against 8-0 on agg.
