i think Lucas requires time on the field to be effective…. he looked sorta lost out there, as if he was unsure of the guys he was playing with…
personally, if he can't get with the program, get what you can for him in the transfer market, then get a guy that can play the role Gerrard is playing now….. perhaps we already have him in Henderson, but Lucas just isn't that good...

No Cech
No Terry
Mourinho considering fielding a weaker team to rest for the CL
And apparently we denied their request to move the game to Saturday.
This is a classic trap game now.
We're supposed to win, and you know the talented guys for Chelsea will be relishing an opportunity to play against a team that is supposed to win.
Hoping Danny-boy is ready to go. Not sure he'll be able to make it 90 though.

I also wanted to add this - especially since I have dogged him at times earlier in the year - Flanno is just growing by leaps and bounds.
He sets up the second goal against Norwich by taking a great first touch (with a slight fake ahead of it) to elude a pressing defender. This gets him moving forward with some pace and opens up the defense completely. He then makes a great pass to Sterling in space to set up the assist to Suarez.
He's done this a few times a game for the last month or so - setting up great positions and opportunities for the team.
He may not oooze offense, but he is doing a good job for what we expect and need.

I would expect more from BR and a club like Liverpool.

When did Chelsea they ask? Was it too late?
We don't know the particulars, only that Mourinho is whining about it. And given his history with media, that likely means its likely a prompt or nudge of some sort or another for something fairly unrelated to the specifics of his whine. Probably for the FA, which is where he seemed to vent. He feels the Spanish Federation does all it can to help teams in CL comps and the English FA doesn't.

Thank god! I am traveling to Orlando that day...
Anyway, why would we move at last minute? If they wouldn't have lost to Sunderland, they would have wanted the extra days rest for the EPL... frick 'em! The world doesn't revolve around Mourinho...

No you're right it shouldn't be up to Liverpool, it's long been a gripe of many English managers/clubs how the FA virtually does nothing to help its teams in situations like this.

New sponsor deal with Subway
Props to FSG and Ayre for continuing to get more revenue and financial support

New subway special coming just in time for the weekend -
$5 Footlong Buffalo Ivanovic Arm and Cheese on Italian Herb bread.
Seriously though, happy we are getting more revenue - they just better never become the kit sponsor.

Shocking... /sarcasm
But seriously, he's already setting up the excuses for when they lose and lose their shot at the PL title this weekend.

We did that last weekend and for that reason don't care about this weekend. Bigger fish to fry. Him starting only players unavailable Wednesday or reserves is absolutely the right thing to do for the club at this point.

You really think CFC will let him do that? I saw the tweet about that but I thought it was BS... We'll see how it goes, Cech and Terry being out makes me a bit more confident but this is still gonna be a tough matchup
Posted on 4/23/14 at 2:08 pm to Tigerfan7218
Why wouldn't everyone involved with CFC want what's best for their club which going all out for the CL obviously is at this point?
Posted on 4/23/14 at 2:36 pm to RandySavage
TBH, I think it is against EPL rules to field a weakened squad... I believe you need to field the strongest squad possible... not that I care in this case..
Posted on 4/23/14 at 3:09 pm to TFTC
If the FA wants clubs to do that they need to work to accommodate them in these situations as pretty much every other countries association does.

This is pretty subjective, no? The strongest squad possible could be argued to be the squad that won't be tired for a UCL Semi match. Dunno, seems hard to enforce.
What is the hierarchy for achievements? Is the Premier League a bigger accomplishment than the UCL? It seems like Mourinho believes that it is. Personally, I feel like a team's first priority should be its domestic league, then the European Championship.

Here's a little something on it, but you're rift, its pretty subjective..

I have also read some stuff thats a couple of years old that says they may repeal it or not enforce it... I can't find anything current..
I just remember a few managers making a stink about it a few years back...

Stadium expansion plans came out today. From what I've read, FSG plan on upgrading each stand at a time starting with the Main Stand. It will increase the capacity to 54,000. Looks pretty cool.
Of course, fans are pissed because its not 60,000+, though.

with the Anfield Road stand (+4,800) upgrade it will bring it close to 60,000...
Ive read that will be all we could do, due to structure and the parking/traffic/etc. limitations...
