Id rather see him land at a west brom or southampon. Di canio is batshit insane and i feel sunderland is a prime relegation candidate.

Southampton would be awesome, but their style of play is not American. They are too technical.

How do folks think that he would do at Crystal palace? Ollie seems to enjoy run and gun football. Could he fit in there?

Wasn't he loosely rumored with schalke and lazio about a month ago? And now we're talking about various relegation fighting teams in the premiership? That's a pretty quick shift

Crystal Palace would not be a good move. West brom could be interesting with Lukaku gone and Odemwingie on the way out. I think West Brom or Sunderland could be pulled into a relegation fight. Palace will definitely be in it. If jozy moves to EPL now, I think he needs to go to atleast a solid mid-table club. We've seen how jozy plays when he doesn't get service. What about Tottenham, Everton or even Fulham?

Yeah, it's pretty difficult to know what his options on the continent are at this point. You'd have to think he ends up in either England, Germany or Italy though. I guess maybe Ligue 1 could be a possibility as well.

Tottenham is probably a bit of an accelerated leap forward at this point. I'd love for him to be paired with dempsey obviously, but he needs to find success at a lesser epl club first.

If stoke wasn't so stoke, it would be cool to pair him with cameron, shea, and even edu. Of course they're supposed to be changing their tactics some with a new manager so who knows.

Just being a Roma fan, I would hate to see Jozy at Lazio.
However, rumors now focusing on relegation candidates instead of 2 clubs in CL/EL spots is a bit of a let down even if he would likely play less at Lazio or Shalke than at Sunderland.

Not a fan. West Brom or Swansea would be better destinations IMO.

You could include Fulham in the list of teams that could easily be pulled into a relegation battle, depending on what they do in the transfer market obviously. Last year's team was utter shite, a bunch of has beens with an absurdly bad group of central midfielders. They were fortunate that there were some truly horrible teams below them.

They've had a decent start to the window, with Amorebieta, Stekelenburg, and Riether. Still have a lot of work to do.

You certainly could pick worse guys to learn from than Miroslav Klose and Grass Jan Huntelaar. The only problem is he'd get less playing time.

I'm not a fan of this time of year for most sports. All of the speculation is exhausting, let me know when the dust settles and everything's final.

He'd get less playing time but Klose missing a lot of injury time and also seeming so physically worn down the last couple of months of the season is why Lazio is looking for a good option behind him.

I really hope he doesn't go there, but strictly from a developmental standpoint it probably wouldn't be a bad idea.

Is Maher leaving AZ this summer? Jozy may want to bail at the same time. . .

I really don't think Jozy should move this window. He's dominated the Netherlands, but the league is weak defensively. None of the options mentioned have sounded all that appealing. Jozy's precociousness is augmented by the relative weakness of Dutch teams, but he is still a target striker who typically don't develop until their mid to late twenties.

That said, AZ has had a pretty good record of development in general. But one wrong move could screw up Jozy's development. He has the potential to be the best American striker ever, and he has to choose his next move carefully. I'd prefer it if he went to a team that could provide him a lot of chances, preferably a system which allowed him to play as a lone target striker, which would help the U.S. since that's the system we seem to be sticking with.

But staying at a smaller club isn't exciting...

I agree. Another strong year at AZ then a good showing at the World Cup and he bypass the relegation worried teams in the EPL and move to a bigger and better club.

There were some Maher to Ajax rumors but those have been squashed.

I don't think Jozy should leave until after the WC. With a good season in Netherlands plus a solid WC, he could end up at a better place than a low level PL team.

If Maher moves on though I wouldn't mind if Jozy went to another club as long as he retains his starting minutes.
