We've been saving money for the last eight years. The first year we actually come into money, and you guys don't want to invest? That is needlessly and dangerously conservative. It's not like if Suarez doesn't work out we won't be able to afford our wages. We are in a strong financial position, and we wouldn't spend the money, or even think about spending the money if we couldn't make it back easily.
So you're saying we could afford an even better talent next year at that position?

No. I'm the guy who knows a good investment when I see one.

Name a better talent at striker than Luis Suarez that a team would even entertain selling.

It's a bad investment. Terrible.
You're not up on current market prices if you think this.

The talks have broken down anyway.
What? literally nothing is known about the dealings right now, every 5 minutes a new story comes out one way or the other.

I don't even... So you just never spend money unless something is on sale and in the clearance section I guess?

You're an idiot. If you are so caring, wtf?
You are biased about Suarez, are you not?

That's my only argument in this situation. I don't see anyone out there right now or in the immediate future who could hold a candle to what he can do for Arsenal.
On another note, why am I arguing for him to make the move?

Well it will probably pretty hard to find a striker in his prime at 40mil. What if next year comes and that is the going rate, assuming same age and contract length? Suarez is a great player, but there are windows when no players of his caliber move at all.
Lets say we buy Suarez and then suddenly Fabregas decides he wants to come back to Arsenal. You don't think we could easily afford both? We've increased our commercial revenue by 60mil per season, we have a transfer kitty of 70 mil and cash reserves of 200 mil. We can basically afford any player that would come into the transfer market.

Calm down. Breathe.
I just said that I cared about his story about some girl that screwed him over. Is that so bad? Why do you want me to hate everyone so badly?

Of course I am. I'm not saying your opinion is bullshite. You have a valid point. I just disagree with it and am trying to have an intelligent conversation with those who think otherwise to figure out why. Maybe others have said so, but I haven't said a word about how you were "stupid" until a few posts ago.
This is like being a GoT reader on the Movie/TV board. I guess I'm banned from the exclusive Arsenal club where everyone that hates Suarez is right and everyone that thinks he's a good buy is an idiot.

Any year. Next year specifically prices will be highly inflated.

Name a guy for next year. Go ahead, do it. Transfer prices skyrocket in World Cup years and teams make bad deals every World Cup, like freaking clock work.
re: Arsenal 2013/2014 Season Long ThreadPosted by hendersonshands on 8/5/13 at 10:40 pm to DeathValleyTigerGirl
Was Bayern Munich buying Javi Martinez for 40m a bad investment?

Ok then
For the record, on this board, I am treated worse than the OT, and you've probably met me.

Henderson, keep your shite at UL.
Good night.
Good night.

I have. Pretty sure we actually knew each other from college (if you're who I think you are). Glass can clarify that so I'm not a creep arse.
And for the record, I'm certainly not one of the people that hate you.
re: Arsenal 2013/2014 Season Long ThreadPosted by DeathValleyTigerGirl on 8/5/13 at 10:45 pm to hendersonshands
So is UL
re: Arsenal 2013/2014 Season Long ThreadPosted by LSUSOBEAST1 on 8/5/13 at 10:46 pm to hendersonshands
I mean, it's a silly argument no matter who is saying it. A player of Suarez's caliber will be priced £10-15m higher next season. If any Arsenal fan wants a "deal" hopefully they realize it likely won't come until 2015.
