Jerks is a pretty good RB all things considered. He could use some more seasoning but he has the tools to be a fantastic player. Not only can he run, he can run for days. He's massively right footed though, but he rarely seeks to have the ball at his feet. He's close to being ready. He'll get enough games here where he won't need to go on loan. He will screw up but even Baccy isn't perfect.

Id have to go back and watch him without the ball, but at least he defends. Out if all our foward players, only him and giroud actually help on d. In fact one thing that pisses me off an Jack is he's a terrible defender yet we expect him to play the pivot and protect our back line?

I do agree about jenks. No need to ship him off, he's our future rb. He needs matches at Arsenal, not another club. He's freakishly fast. He can get up and down with those long strides. He should get better. But we need to sign baccy to give jenks some time to grow. And because hes our best defender and can provide cover at any position in the back without any drop off. Plus he looks like he's put the leg breaks behind him and has plenty of gas left.

poldi is without a doubt the worst defender out of any attacking player we have other than probably özil.

Poldi basically plays like the trailing striker in a 442. Him playing off Giroud might be amazing, but as a wide player in a 4231 he doesn't do enough unless he scores.

He's actually best when he slides inside and Mesut moves wide. Those two have good chemistry and understanding. Unless Podolski is killing our accounting books, which I don't think he is, he's good to have around as 1) depth 2) goal scoring and 3) chemistry.

I agree that axis is effective, but how often have they played together? Not very often. I don't think Poldi will stick around for depth to be honest. He's good to have, but for a wide player he has to improve his movement.

i think poldi is our second highest paid player. that said, i'm cool with him sticking around if he's cool with the role he's played this year.

my thought process this summer is, could this player be an impact player on the best team in the world? because that's what all this Emirates Stadium stuff was for. we wanted to compete with the best long term. now we have the financial resources to do so, so we need to move on from our past years. wenger needs to be a tad more ruthless (not a whole lot more) than he has been.

i don't think poldi's shown the ability to consistently be an impact player from the LW or CF position in a starting role. I think he can still be an impact sub and a starter against smaller clubs.

saw some papers linking us (as well as other top EPL clubs) to Benatia.

Benatia probably won't get quite the press he deserves, but he's arguably been the best CB in Europe this season. Seriously, bar none.

Roma signed him on a long term deal last summer over a lot of other suitors and was the reason we let Marquinhos go. You'll see his name mentioned a lot--along with every good Roma player-- but I'd be really surprised to see Benatia wanting to leave or being sold almost no matter the price.

This summer for Roma won't be a massive shake up like last where Palotta took over from DeBenedetto as president, hired Rudi Garcia and also pushed Baldini out. The emphasis was on getting more proven talent and stopping the revolving door that typified Baldini's couple of years.

Since, barring a complete collapse, we'll be in CL and also have the new Nike deal in place I imagine the main focus will be to address weaknesses without selling key players. I'm sure the preferred summer will be to keep the core in place, sign one high profile big money guy in attack in unison the highly promoted Nike announcement and otherwise make some Serie A based moves where we can use 1/2 ownerships of some of our young talent to add depth (like Naingollan and Benatia deals) and probably a cheaper Ligue 1 LB.

We have no proven backup CB after Benatia/Castan since Burdisso was let go this winter and are likely to sign Davide Astori as we'll need a third proven CB for Europe.

The only major players I could see moving would be Pjanic or maybe, but much less likely, Strootman. That's really just conjecture based on the large € offers they would attract, that Pjanic is going to be making a lot of money on his new deal and Strootman only because he doesn't speak a word of Italian and Dutch players seem to love the EPL.

The problem is shipping him off and dicking around like usual just find out we put a stupid bid in and get left with an even less quality player. I know we have the money, but i dont expect them to go throwing it around on multiple players. Looking at Bayern as the best team rt now, how many players on this Arsenal team could replace the guys they have? Prob not too many.

And there's definitely room for a player like that.

He comes on in the 80th minute, and the defense doesn't close him down, and he can get us a cheap goal like that.

I just like him. He's not going to win you a title, but he can help you.

TV5 and Ozil back for Stoke. Monreal and Gibbs are both doubts.

So if neither can play I guess we have Sagna at left and Jenks at right. But if one of them go down... sadly we don't have Ramsey to replace them

ETA: Y'all will appreciate this.

2nd page.

But looks like we extending rosicky, carzola and per. Looks like santi gonna get paid. Really like this. With them and the English guys we will have a nice core going forward. Resign Arsene and sagna. We will just need a few more pieces.

Tough match tomorrow boys and girl. Going to The Britannia is never an easy task.

I hate playing Stoke anytime, but particularily there. The "hack Jack" ploy is going to be ugly tomorrow.

Just been watching highlights of Dan Crawley.

I hate that you poached him from Villa this summer, looking forward to that compo rising though!

For anyone that hasn't seen him He's #10 in this game vs peterborough in the U18 FA Cup.
Tha pass for 3-0

I really hate stoke. Dirty. Adam should have been sent off, twice he purposely came in with his studs to hurt a player. He should get a ban. It's utter bullshite and has no place in the game.

And there it is. Damn, going to be shitty day at work.
