I've done all those things. I've probably seen her on tv. She doesn't register to me, because she didn't do anything significant.

i think you're probably right. i'd say maybe 10% of the pop knows who she is and that might be generous.

This is the big reason. LOTS of men don't watch sports at all.
Of the ones that do watch sports, not all of them watch ESPN. They watch the games, and that's it.
ETA: I mean their other programming like Sportscenter and First Take, etc.
