Right now, if you apply for a Chase ink Plus Business card, and spend $5,000 in the first three months, they'll give you 60,000 bonus points- $600 cash back or $750 in travel points. I just applied and it said the offer was only good through 6/22 in celebration of "Small Business Week".

That's the largest bonus offer I've ever seen out of Chase

Ya, I have to wait at least 6 months before I go for one of their business cards. I had to weasel my way into the Sapphire and Freedom (applied for Freedom only 30 days after Sapphire, and a little under 6 months from my Venture). So, they aren't going to give me any more credit for awhile.

Just take the 60k now and downgrade to the no fee version which has every single feature of the fee version except a lower amount you can earn 5x points per year and it doesn't transfer to partners. However, you can just transfer out of that CC to your sapphire and then transfer to partners.

Its a no brainer big dawg

Summary:

Get Ink Plus, get the bonus, then wait til renewal and downgrade to Ink Classic. Combine points on chase.com to your Sapphire Preferred then to your travel partner of choice. No harm to you whatsoever.

I have 2 Chase Ink Cards, and when I saw 50,000 points a few weeks ago, I resisted. Add an extra 10,000 pts, and I couldn't help myself. I'll get it, use it for 3 months, get my bonus pts, and then cancel it.

I'm saving up all my cash back to help with a down payment for my next car in a year or so, so that will help a bunch- it will put me over the 300,000 mark.

Damn son you need to start burning those soon.

Oh, nevermind, you are using them for cash back. My bad.

Be careful... Chase is known for closing down accounts and basically tough luck. I would recommend not letting them just sit there... Cash out before you cancel the card and just let the cash back sit in a savings account

I already got two new cards this year... I am not willing to open another one anytime soon

Ya I got 3 this year and that makes me uncomfortable, but apparently applying for 5 or more in a year doesn't faze some folks as it appears from what I read.
