I am checking out their collection now. I had probably only heard about half of their songs before.

Lateralus as a whole is a really good album IMO. Is it their best work?

Lateralus, though I really love Opiate as well.

Check out Lateralus re-ordered as The Holy Gift.

What is the meaning of the sequence change?

Seems like the people in the comments section were debating about it

The Composition and Content section here explains it reasonably well.

Interesting. So reordered it plays as one continuous song?

I love all Tools work.

But 10,000 days might be my favorite.

Doesn't get the credit it deserves... Very well made album.

I'm anxiously awaiting the next and likely final album. They've been writing and jamming for about 2yrs on it. Hope it lives up to the hype.

Def one of my favs... I really don't know if I can name one that is the best. Hell, I'd prob have trouble narrowing it down to 3, but all of these would be in the running to make that list.

Pushit
The Patient
Eulogy
4 Degrees
46+2
The Grudge
Third Eye

Undertow and Ænima are about even for me.

As a Tool fan confession - I just don't listen to Lateralus enough - although the title track is staggeringly good.

If I had to pick one to listen to the rest of my life, it would be Aenima.

It all depends on my mood, and that is the beauty of them having many years between the albums. Each one is quite different.

Opiate for raw grungy rock
Undertow - much more polished rock sound that brings me back to early HS years
Aenima - so many layers of sound and thought. This is the one that really got me into Tool so it holds a special place.
Lateralus - I never gave this album a chance because Schism bored me and it was so overplayed. Now, I think Lateralus is their deepest album technically. Many layers of sound and great time signature changes.
10,000 Days - Right in 2 may be one of their best songs, but it gets very little love. The title tracks are very powerful, and seeing them live was a great experience.
