Thanks for this incredible insight. Like Jamal said, Robinson would be drafted if he went to ULM.
Please, post less.

re: Why it will be difficult for Robinson to sign with LSU

Faulk was rated as a 1st to 2nd round pick before the injury. Hurst was rated as a 3rd-4th round pick before his personal issues happened. Williford was also rated as a 4th round pick before the concussions, he was probably going to declare if the injury at Florida didn't happen. La'el is rated as the #2 OG in his class, after only one year starting. His best NFL potential is at guard, which is becoming way more recognized in the NFL these days. Trai Turner is rated the #5 guard after only half a season. Alexander is rated the #4 OT.

These new guys have far more potential than Dworazyck, Blackwell, Hebert, Black, Johnson, Stewart, Barksdale, etc... had. Can't blame the coaches for random freak injuries. Nor for turning defensive linemen into really good SEC offensive linemen, including a couple all-americans.

Stud even had a linemen drafted from Bowling Green that was a starter for several years in the NFL.

Now look up Mario Cristobal's success with offensive linemen and compare the differences. I'll make it easy for you. In over 10 years he hasn't gotten a single offensive linemen drafted in the NFL. Sorry but I'm not worried, even if Robinson goes to Bama. Miles/Stud>>>>>>Cristobal. Their resume and experience proves it.

The O line for LSU this year will be one of the best in the country. Y'all pessimists have fun

re: Why it will be difficult for Robinson to sign with LSU

I just copied my post from the other thread giving my reasons why Cam will be incredibly difficult to sign at this point and it has absolutely nothing to do with success in the draft. LSU just had former W. Monroe standout KeKe Mingo go higher in the draft than any bama player and people are acting like Robinson hasn't noticed this.

There is a post on the 247 board laying out the roles of Bakari Guice and Cam's "uncles" Kenny and Bub in Cam Robinson's recruitment. Those guys couldn't care less about LSU when they're benefitting by taking guys like Cam on trips to bama. It may look like an innocent trip to camp, but from what I understand, there's more to it than that.

I'm not saying they wouldn't drive him to LSU if he wanted them to, but Saban has been offering hs coaches jobs as "player personnel" staff members in return for delivering their star players to bama. There are more than 25 hs coaches who have current or former players at bama that are on bama's staff. All the hs coach has to do is drive the players to bama as often as possible, encourage that player to see things the bama way, and there are incentives being offered for their roles in the situation.

It's a really shady business and other schools have attempted to put a stop to the new rule allowing these practices, but it has only been temporarily suspended, which isn't stopping Saban and the REC from providing incentives to hs coaches.

This new rule allowing unlimited staff members is the work of Emmert, who owes most of his notoriety and success to Saban, so he will always do whatever he can to give Saban an advantage.

At least we all know that Emmert is on borrowed time because his tenure as NCAA has been a disaster, but during that time, it's been quite clear to everyone that Saban is holding all of the cards.

This is a key part of the reason that bama can get mulligans in the bcs championship, dictate the schedules and basically own espn. Because people that realize what's going on understand that bama will remain on top as long as the present system is in place.

They will also continue to throw resources at our very best players because we are a constant threat. This is why mods are predicting someone like Fournette to bama even though there has been absolutely no indication of that.

Les and co. will have to be fantastic at what they do and maybe a little bit lucky to overcome all of this bull shite that is piling up right under their noses.

That's what it looks like. He had a pretty good talent pool in Florida and Rutgers. Still couldn't develop NFL ready O linemen. Stud had way less talent at Bowling Green and did fairly well. I'll give Cristobal credit towards recruiting and being a good Tight End coach, but his O line coaching experience and success has been average at best

Joe Pendry and Stoutland were successful almost everywhere they coached. While Cristobal is a great recruiter, his linemen coaching skills are still to be determined. Their replacing three of their best linemen and a new coach.

While LSU has Stud and Miles now working full time on the o line, with 4 returning starters and several other players that provide excellent depth. I think the O Line will dominate this year. Even if Collins struggles they can put Stokes on his side for extra protection. They did the same thing with Faulk and it masked his pass blocking deficiency. Faulk was a little over-rated at LT. Could be a dominant OG in the NFL though.

Wherever CR signs, I don't really think the OL-Coach of that school will be the reason. Jmo

2 things for recruits to consider, with one already fact and the other yet to be determined:

1. Much has been said about Saban getting his players ready for the next level. Now, look at the number of elite players he has in the NFL. Not many, even though his squads have been loaded with 4/5* recruits. Also look at the pieces of crap who came out of his program feeling entitled and either out of the league or having trouble with coaches.

2. If Cam's can develop our guys on the offensive side of the ball and we're ranked even in the top 40 in the country, offensive recruits will give us a lot more consideration.

You couldn't post this negativity in the other Cam thread tho?

LSU has more players in the NFL than does Alabama

look it up!

LSU should be able to recruit toe to toe with anyone.

What ticks me off is that Bama's recruiting budget is substantially more than LSU's

It's embarrassing how far behind we are here...and we should address it...LSU football is a 85 Million dollar a year program..

I'm getting to the point that I don't care anymore where kids go. I personally can't see why the Louisiana kids would not go to LSU, but maybe I was raised differently. Seems like every kid in this state would choose us cause we are the home school and we are always elite. What the hell are these Louisiana parents teaching their kids? My dad would bitch slap me if I didn't jump on an LSU offer! I think it's weird to grow up here in Louisiana and go to an Alabama or other school with a scholorahip to LSU. These recruits grew up in the golden days too which makes even less sense! Where is the state pride?

Well hopefully the powers that be at LSU will address this situation accordingly. One thing is certain, unless some ties are severed this will continue to be a problem.

Yeah, but to whom and where do you think those extra recruiting funds are going?

LSU's recruiting budget is comparable to other schools that are not using the same tactics as bama.

We just haven't had the same immunity from ncaa scrutiny that bama's had while Emmert has been in power.

I wouldn't be too surprised if we miss out on a few big names in the 2014 class due to the ncaa committee on infractions being in such a weakened state right now. The timing of all of this is terrible for us.

Just watch the OL that we put in the NFL in the years to come. Of course Bama will put those numbers in the NFL because those guys were all #1 or right under prospects at their positions.

Since you know how many there are, you shouldn't have a problem naming at least half of them for me would you? or maybe just 3 or 4? thanks.

I understand your view, but as I've stated many times before on this board, when you are a recruit or the parents of a recruit, you cannot look at things thru the eyes of a fan. There are so many other variables that come into play! In the end my son did choose LSU, but honestly I did encourage him to explore ALL options and schools! It has to be a good fit all the way around. You can't make a choice like that based simply off of "state pride."

LSU fans have to understand this. As a fan- I want all the great HS players here to go to LSU. Looking at things objectively- has the LSU offense been anything to brag about lately? In reality it has been a disaster with play-calling, game management etc. The LSU offense has been bailed out more than once by talented and well-coached defenses. Forget about who you want to win the game and how much you hate Nick Saban- look at things thru the eyes of Cam- if it comes down to LSU/Bama recriting battle who has the goods for a left tackle coming out of high school who wants to play in the pros?

Wow, that's really insightful, it's amazing no one has brought that up before like hundred million times.

LSU has not had the NFL caliber talent in the OL over the last few years that Alabama has had. Whether that is evaluation, recruiting or the simple fact that the state hasn't produced a lot of NFL type OLmen over the years or some combo of the 3 is debatable, but its not because the OL coaching is so bad that players are held back

Faulk probably would have been drafted had he not gotten hurt and he did sign a FA deal. Collins will the be the test case, he was a highly ranked recruit and we will see where he gets drafted.

Johnson and Barksdale did make the league, how they do there is up to them.

When an Alabama player struggles in the league:
Nick Saban got the best out of him, its not his job to coach them in the NFL

When an LSU player struggles in the league:
Les Miles is a horrible coach
