mendy has no competition

nearly a lock for 300+ carries, and Palmer loves nothing more than to check down to the RB...80+ RB receptions in Oakland/year....50+ in Cin

I think a steal, even with a crappy average

According to the Union-Tribune San Diego, the Chargers are "more than hinting" at a switch to a "multi-back system" that's less reliant on Ryan Mathews.
Danny Woodhead is locked in as San Diego's new passing-down back, crushing Mathews' receiving value. Per the U-T San Diego's Chris Jenkins, Woodhead is "already showing signs in camp of being a go-to guy for (Philip) Rivers." Mathews should get most of the early-down carries, but it'll be a dead giveaway to defenses when he's in the game. Behind a terrible offensive line, it's hard to generate excitement about Mathews' bounce-back candidacy in fantasy leagues.

If this is true, then Woodhead=Darren Sproles

Rivers checked to the RB 155 times last year (Brown 59,Mathews 56, Battle 15, Brinkley 15, McClain 10) completing 123 of them.

Saints completed 127 passes to the RB with Sproles getting 75 of them

Woodhead being the 3rd down back should see more carries than Sproles' ~50, but he should hit that 70+ rec total....assuming the OC/Coach doesn't keep Rivers from checking down.

Vereen getting all the hype, take Woody later

Browns OC Norv Turner is targeting 300 carries and 60 receptions for Trent Richardson this season.
Turner conceded Richardson will need breathers, but he wants his bellcow involved in every offensive package. (Unlike Ryan Mathews.) "It's hard for a tailback now to play every down the entire game, but they have to be prepared to play every down," said Turner. "If we're in a two-minute situation, I don't think any of us want Trent standing on the sidelines." Richardson finished his rookie season with 267 carries and 51 catches, and was the No. 9 overall fantasy back.

I don't like him any more than the next guy, but options are limited in that backfield. The write up I just read on the RB3 Taylor basically says he doesn't move well at all, and that he is a durability spot only.

Pierce's "workload is expected to increase," likely rising from about seven touches a game into the 10-14 range, on average. Rice remains a strong bet to flirt with 300 all-purpose touches and finish as a top 10-12 fantasy running back. With diminishing upside in more of a rotation, however, Rice is just no longer a shoo-in first-round pick

let him fall, he won't put up the elite numbers of past years, let some fool owner waste their first round pick on him.

ESPN New York reports David Wilson is "expected" to be the Giants' "starting" running back on game days, but the team will employ a two-back system.
"We're both going to contribute," acknowledged Wilson, discussing his impending timeshare with Andre Brown. "Both of them are different style runners," said Eli Manning. "And we’ll kind of understand that and put them in to do things that they are best at." Wilson is the far more explosive, elusive back of the two, but the coaching staff at this point has more "trust" in Brown.

pretty sure it's pass protection issues, I like Brown later than Wilson earlier.

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette expects Antonio Brown to play Mike Wallace's old "X" receiver position in OC Todd Haley's offense.
Emmanuel Sanders will play "Z" receiver, the position manned by Brown last season and Hines Ward in years past. (Although Haley never coached Ward.) The "X" spot was held down by Larry Fitzgerald, Terrell Owens, and Dwayne Bowe in Haley's old Arizona, Dallas, and Kansas City offenses, respectively. Haley's "Zs" have been Anquan Boldin, Miles Austin, and Steve Breaston.

Sanders way later than Brown in the mid rounds....should see similar amount of targets

The Washington Times confirms Pierre Garcon is showing "no signs" of last year's toe injury at Redskins camp.
Garcon is "run(ning) well," aggressively finishing routes over the middle, and making tough grabs in traffic, per beat writer Rich Campbell. Garcon can be a target monster in Washington's pass offense. He's a high-ceiling fantasy WR2.

good value for early round RB heavy drafters

Darrius Heyward-Bey suffered a sprained left knee during Sunday's practice at Colts camp.
There aren't many details available, but Heyward-Bey had the knee wrapped post-practice and lacks a timetable for return. This could be the opening T.Y. Hilton needs to claim the full-time No. 2 receiver job. Heyward-Bey versus Hilton is one of the biggest fantasy-impact battles of 2013 NFL training camps.

the guy can never catch the break he deserves.

remember to flag guys like Hilton on your online drafts as they may be ranked a lot lower on slow to update draft boards.

Star and scrimmage shouldn't be in the same sentence. I read he broke 2 10+ yd runs. ZOINKS!!!! Super star! He's taking the lead for the depth chart, but those pics keep coming. He's gotta be 245+. Thats great for the goal line, but it doesn't make me wanna draft him in FF. And FWIW I'll root for him being from LA, even if didnt go to LSU.

No mention of Rodgers losing his projected LT and how this could impact that already shaky offensive line?
