Lucky man for 4 reasons
#1- Not everyone gets to hit those milestones. Embraced that this year on my 48th
#2- Beautiful wife who set you up nicely. No Cheesecake factory lunch or anythoing like that. Pure class. Plus she is pretty hot IMO
#3-You demand respect. You kids and grandkids are coming to celebrate with you.You have obviously done well raising good kids who still honor you.
#4-You got to tap the "win" post and step on the field.
HAVE A GREAT TIME BRO. CSB or not, I enjoyed the post. Thanks!

We got to take that tour in 07 ....the morning of the Florida game.....me my son and a couple of friends after going to game day that morning on the way walking back to the tailgate we noticed a line of about ten people outside the locker room......as we were going by one of the trainers told the people in line to give home 5 minutes and he will start the tour.....so we just got in line .....we got to see everything you mentioned in your post....plus since it was game day they had all the gear in front the players lockers....in fact they had a letter on all the defensive players lockers that quoted Caldwell from Florida saying that our d couldn't stop him...,... The bad thing I didn't have but a shitty camera phone because I wasn't expecting to go on the tour ......the best part was touching the win bar ,like you said ....plus we beat Florida that day....

Damn! This wasn't supposed to turn into a lookalike thread. 
Again, thanks to everyone for the kind wishes. It's hell getting old, but if you have a good support team, that eases the sting. Besides, getting old beats the alternative.
We had several cameras along on the tour, lots of photos taken in the locker room, including the pro combat all-white uniform on the mannekin. Nice to see that again, one of my all-time favorites.
The plaques of team captains on the lockers were nice, along with the one listing all the graduates of the program. I made sure my son got a close-up shot of the name of the legendary Thomas Dunson.
Again, thanks to everyone for the kind wishes. It's hell getting old, but if you have a good support team, that eases the sting. Besides, getting old beats the alternative.

It is indeed. When I talk about classes I took at LSU I always mention the one I had where our classroom was The Lawton Room, it was "Coaching Football" taught by Dr Sam Nader. It was during the spring and what was our in class lab project? Go observe an LSU spring practice. We got to stay as long as we wanted well after the media got kicked out. Saban was coach at the time. That guy is intense but still very motivating. He's 100% all the time. Lots of respect for the man but it's a shame who his current employer is.

On a side note...Few yrs ago I got to go watch the pregame highlight video the players watch before the LSU fla game in 07 in the team meeting room.
It was about 3-4 hours before kickoff.
I was loaded.
The video was awesome, I wanted to go play.
I was prob sitting in the same seat as the greatest Tiger ever was sitting few ahours befroe he delivered the greatest effort by a LSU Tiger.
