From the article that I read in the Cronicle, the plan is to trade Robinson, which frees up 5mil. Parsons' is due 800k this year (talk about a steal, but that's what you get with a second round rookie contract). There is no way in hell Alexander let's him go.

I don't think anyone will jump at the idea of trading for Lin, he's a mid-level (at best) point guard getting paid way too much.

According to the article, the plan was to not resign Delfino or Garcia, wave motiejunas, relase Smith, keep Beverly and someone else (Anderson?)

I've been watching Houston since I was a 4, Vernon Maxwell was my favorite player, crazy bastard , but I don't see it happening (Howard and CP3 that is). This team immediatly becomes a finals contender with the addition of Howard, imo.

that would be a stacked squad

Bring back Korver to play the 3 and Lou Williams is on contract at the 2. Definitely a top 3 team in the East next season, and could probably push Miami and Indiana for top 2

All Pels fans are bandwagoners unless you grew up a Hornets fan.

Luckily for me, I used to crush shite on NBA Jam with LJ, Zo, and Mugsy so I'm technically a die hard Pels fan.

anyone that has jumped on the hornts/pels pain train recently cannot be considered bandwagoners imo. you not a bandwagoner if you jump on when they suck

I was a Charlotte fan, but that was because of Larry Johnson. Dammit! I am too loyal to players!

Well they moved here when I was 9, so I guess that counts me as growing up as a Hornets fan

I don't know if I'd say one is better than the other. I guess it depends on how your management likes to build squads. Money is always the ultimate consideration.

Obviously, even the most stacked starting rosters (whether they are built through FA or Draft) will struggle against teams with incredibly strong benches.

it's not an either or scenario. your goal should be find the best players you can in the draft and also try to get the best players you can via trades/FA. saying it's not good to build through the draft is dumbfounding

That explains why you are so knowledgable when it comes to the GOAT discussion.

He was drafted by Charlotte. He went to New York and ended his career there.

You think that Houston would have to trade Parsons to get someone to take Lin's 2 year/16 million deal?

I don't think a team is going to take Lin without a sweetener. Towards the end of FA, pairing him with Motiejunas may be enough to get a team with loads of capspace that missed their targets to bite, but by then it will be too late. Houston has been trying to dump TRob and apparently hasn't gotten any interest. Also, teams know that Houston is going to be desperate to free up that salary ASAP to land both Paul and Howard (all they have to do to get just Howard is move Asik and take back little salary, which shouldn't be a problem). So yeah, I think it would take Parsons to move Lin and Robinson quickly.
