Nothing wrong financially, I'm sure they're more succesful in that regard than ever.

Isn't this guy a walking sports almanac? I hope he didn't sign a non-compete clause with his severance agreement because Fox or NBC is going to snatch him up quick.

They are grabbing all the good ESPN people it seems these days and their #1 researcher for 26 years is a huge steal even if ESPN says they didn't want him anymore.

Also, I bet he'll take way less money to stick it to ESPN.

Well, ESPN doesn't need a shred of sports research with their current model, so theyr're good.

Just get someone to monitor Twitter for what's trending or hire a private investigator to follow Tim Tebow everywhere and crank out the stories!

i believe the standard severance from the first round of layoffs was 2 weeks pay for every year of employment. that would probably keep him out of work and out of the media for a full year if true.

I think he could be a GREAT 3rd guy in a booth, just giving the craziest stats he can think of.

Like A-rod bats .248 when there is a guy on 3rd base who is of hispanic descent, but only on Tuesdays-Thursdays

Obviously not that, but he knows his stuff and he would do a great job on like a MNF type set

ESPN blows on every level. The ONLY time I watch that horseshi!t network is when a game is on. Even then, their entire production sucks.

Lets fire the guy who basically built the research department for us instead of getting rid of the ridiculous contract of someone like Jamele Hill or Skip Bayless.

this says it all about espn nowadays.

fire your most knowledgeable sports person yet continue to air garbage like first take.

i wonder if they gave him the option of taking a pay cut?

always really enjoyed stump the schwab.

hope he ends up at fox sports one or nbc.

i dunno. i've heard first take doesn't do out of this world numbers.

i think people want to just watch games on espn and any other time it's on it's just for background noise.

I didn't say I loved ESPN radio, I just think Patrick is just as bad but pretends like he is not. I will say I watch SVP and he is >>>>> Dan Patrick.

Ironic tweet by Howie in early May.

It makes me wonder about loyalty in this world. Is everything these days about money alone? I understand there are business decisions, but..

I was on vacation for 3 weeks and I didn't watch ESPN or Sportscenter once, except when it was on at a bar. Felt good to cleanse my body.

Half of their staff needs to get wiped out

I'm never going back

Interested to see Fox launch its new channel.

NBC and CBS are beefing up their networks, too. Hopefully it won't be long until ESPN loses the monopoly
