Just curious what percentage LBJ haters are MJ fans. I'm a big time MJ fan and just really for back into watching the NBA sine MJ retired. I enjoy watching LBJ and don't consider myself a hater.

DISCLAIMER: MJ is the current GOAT, and LBJ isn't even close.

Wasn't a "fan" of mj. But he was and is the goat I can recognize and admit that pretty easily

I think MJ folks are more defensive (and rightfully so) than LBJ hate...given all the hyperbole about LBJ despite the evidence to the contrary.

It's like we're supposed to ignore or discount a decade of clutch from MJ and all his titles b/c the younger generation is in love with LeBron's skills/size.

I like both. Fanboys that have to make GOAT statement in every post are annoying though. Haters too for that matter.

I guess this is where I am on it. I'm a fan of both players so it's not an either/or for me but MJ is clearly the greatest ever and I just don't see how LeBron is going to ever overtake him.

I don't see why people get all bent out of shape about that. Calling him, potentially, the fifth best player ever is far from an insult.

As an 80's Laker homer - and fan of Jordan as well in the 90's - I can't say Magic is the GOAT over Jordan...but - I've always believed...if there was an All-Time draft...

I'd draft Magic first.

I want him on my team over everyone else who has ever played the game.

The thing about it is

There is no goat. It's a made up phrase. There is no trophy. There is no ceremony. It's a personal thing who you think is the goat

Everyone's opinion is just like everyone's a-hole. We all got one

Love MJ and LeBron. I just don't have the attention span of a knat -- if LeBron does something amazing, it doesn't automatically mean he's the GOAT. LeBron is incredibly efficient -- on MJ's level -- and undoubtedly the best player since MJ save for Shaq maybe, but there are some things that I see that give me pause. He doesn't have MJ's assertiveness all the time. It's troublesome. And I think LeBron has the most unique skillset/physical attributes in NBA history. But you really have to give it time when comparing the two.

I don't think that the LJ haters generally have a good perspective of the comparison. There's a thread right now on the front page with Jordan's shot over Ehlo, and people are using that as one of many reasons that Jordan is the GOAT, but a week and a half after that shot, Jordan lost in the ECF 4-2 to Detroit at the age of 26 (he had been MVP once at that point and had never been to the Finals). When Lebron was 26, he was going to the Finals for the second time and had been MVP twice.

The fact is that if you switched the eras in some time warp, Jordan wouldn't be in the same discussion with Lebron until a few years from now.

People are using that as one of the reasons MJ is GOAT because it was an incredibly difficult series-winning shot.

Not to mention Cleveland was the #3 seed and it was considered a major upset at the time.
