That's true. The good thing is that Bayern's "backups" are all still world class players

Jupps favorite thing to say last year was there is not an A or B squad at Bayern. Diego Contento is really the only person who I'd consider to be straight up average. Hell DVB was better than Jerome last season. Loving how Boateng has played this year, he's on track to be one of the best sooner rather than later.

Tom Starke sucks a lot actually, but he's old and loves not playing.

Starke's Salary. I agree about Contento, I really love JB's intensity, he's a downright stud this year.

Tom Strong is living the dream. Just hope he doesn't have to play

You aren't kidding about that. He gets paid big Euros, gets to fly around Europe, and gets to chill and watch world class football from a front row seat.

Here is an English podcast with Kalle, Tuechel, Honigstein and some others talking about how garbage English football is and how Germany changed their academy systems. It's 50 minutes long, Tuechel talks twice.

It talks a lot about what steps and why the Germans revamped their youth development. Tuechel is pretty great on there, he made his career in the academy before getting a chance with a senior team, so he provides some really unique perspective. They also talk about why the system probably wouldn't work in England.

He had to be leaned out. I've watched it 100 times and I still laugh just as hard every time.

I had to watch it a few times because I was so confused at what I saw at first.

Here is a little preview of the match this weekend against Mainz at home on Saturday, courtesy of BundesligaFanantic.

The Bavarians have always won their matches against Mainz upon taking a 1-0 lead. However, Die Roten have failed to win in all matches where Mainz took a 1-0 lead.

quote:

Franck Ribery hasn’t lost any of his last 38 matches in the Bundesliga. Provided Bayern win or draw Ribery is going to break Holger Hieronymus’s old record of having been unbeaten in 38 Bundesliga matches.

Bayern are three matches away from equalling HSV old record of having been unbeaten in 36 Bundesliga in a row.

Mario Mandzukic has scored four goals in his last four matches against Mainz.

Bayern have created 10 shots for each of the goals they’ve scored so far this season. Last season they only needed 6 shots per goal after 8 match days.
