Plus he could have a big season. Last year his teams QB quit and a sophomore took over. Now his QB has some experience and a pretty good arm. Also I noticed that they play against some solid competition in 4A and this season they will be in 5A.

I've watched his film a few times and I would put this dude at CB. He's got good enough ball skills to make something happen when he gets the ball. I just don't see the one on one big plays in his film.

I watched an extensive amount of "tape" on Chark. IMO, DB. Nothing jumped out at me regarding WR potential. Good hands. Aside from that, average speed. Decent change of direction. Not ripping the kid, just an opinion. I just think its a bit early considering what we have out there. Maybe he will be a diamond in the rough.

Hey guys, I was in Baton Rouge for the Super Regional, then on Monday went back to the Tiger gift shop by the stadium with my wife. We were walking back to the car when I saw Les Miles and Cam Cameron walking from the football admin building to Tiger Stadium with a recruit and his parents - must have been D, J. Chark. I hustled over there to say hi, but Miles was already headed into the stadium. Coach Cameron did come over and shook my hand, and I told him I was in town for baseball from Montana, and good luck this season. He said thanks, then must have said something to Miles who turned and gave us a wave. Pretty cool - they were both real nice guys who took the time to make a fan feel important. The LSU coaches are great ambassadors for the school.

Les Miles is a great guy.
However, Nick Saban is the bestest person in the whole world, according to his coaching staff.
Glad to hear of LSU fans in the great State of Montana! Headed out there in early August!

Good hands.

His concentration level is elite, so is his ability to grab the ball at it's highest point. Plus he proved he has hands going to 3 camps in 3 days, getting an offer at each place. Imagine showing up to a camp after being on the road for most of the day with barely any rest. Yet he dominated.

He's burns just about everybody. Almost every CB at my high school ran a consistent 4.5, same goes for lots of other 4A/5A schools. I think you're underestimating how many badass recruits he plays against in Louisiana. The main reason the state doesn't have more in college or the pros is because a lot of players can't qualify with bad grades.

I'm glad he's very coachible bc I coached against him when he was at Winfield in 2011-12 and I didn't give him a second look. His film at ash is above average, but he gets tackled a lot in one on one match ups. I think he'll grow into a solid corner. He has the measurables be the 6'2 190lb LSU CB. He's got a great opportunity. But, I would love to see him prove me wrong and be the best WR in LSU history.

He really didn't make a huge splash when you saw him in 2011, then again he was a 10th grader and was alot smaller. You wouldn't have given him much thought bc Alonzo Moore and Trey Gilbert were destroying on offense then. I've said it before, I think he could make a good corner bc of size, smarts, speed, and hands. But when I compare him athletically to Alonzo Moore on the field, it just doesn't compare. Moore was on the cusp, but didn't get an offer. DJ has done all the right things for an offer and worked his arse off so I'm ecstatic for him. I am still pretty surprised by the offer and the July camp will be interesting...

He measured 6'1.5, 176 lbs and ran a legit 4.5

Since the kid's highlight tape from last fall claims that he is 6'0" 160 lbs, it's pretty obvious that he is still growing.

And, yeah, there's no doubt that he can gain speed and weight at the same time---he's a string bean right now. He looks like he's going to need to spend a redshirt season in the weight room, but there's lot of potential here.

No, ASH sucks pretty bad especially since they just got bumped up to 5A and were put in the same district as WM.

I agree..... he turned into one hell of a CB with great return skills. Chark's return ability is the most impressive thing in his highlights.

I'll make sure to go to a few games. If he's really good, anyone should notice him immediately at an ASH game.

I would 100% agree with this if this was not mett's last year. I understand seeing how our offensive game plan improves but there will be a different starting QB in 2014 that may be a better passer or a better dual threat.

This guy has a great video, and from all accounts he is performing great at the camps. Remember all these guys still have a senior season to play and they are kids meaning bodies and physical traits may have not matured. Top prospects could go out and stink up the joint. Lets have faith in the coaching staffs evaluations.

But,but he isn't a five star!!!!! Les has got to stop giving these spots to these low rated recruits.
