The idea that the Cavs are not totally sold on Noel isn't a new one. Jason Lloyd of the Akron Beacon-Journal reported as much the night of the lottery. Reports from Sam Amico have indicated that the Cavs like Ben McLemore's scoring, and Pluto in the same article says Alex Len is a real possibility for Cleveland, while Porter is a much less likely option. Pluto finishes his section on the Cavs by saying he senses the team moving away from Noel, and being open to a trade. Now, add Victor Oladipo to the list, per Bob Finnan. Finnan writes that the Cavs are extremely high on Oladipo, and are trying to keep it quiet.

If Noel falls past #1, how far does he end up falling and how could this impact who is available at #6?

This is the most up in the air draft I can remember from recent times. Nobody has a clue where anyone is going yet.

if noel fell to us at 6...would anyone here be ok with drafting him? does he have superstar potential...or is it a greg oden situation where the wheels are already coming off the bus?

More importantly, does Jester have a good I Told You So gif ready

My first thought was surely Washington takes him at 3, but Noel not going 1st could make the draft go crazy based on other rumors of Milwaukee trading with Washington to get a PG and Charlotte trading #4 for Bosh.

Could we see

Mclemore - Cleveland
Burke - Orlando
McCollum - Milwaukee via Washington
Bennett - Miami via Charlotte
Noel - Phoenix

Leaving Oladipo, Porter and Len on the board. Although that's not as exciting as it seemed a few months ago.

If Len jumps top 5, which I think he does, who drops out of the "consensus" top 6 players for the top 5 spots: Noel, Oladipo, Porter, McLemore, Bennett (I guess you can throw Burke in there as well)? (EDIT:Missed this question in the OP, my bad.) I guess Noel would be the obvious answer, but I think he still goes top 5, and Bennett drops to around 7-10.

Hopefully Porter drops and we can get him at 6. Maybe something like:

1. CLE- Len
2. ORL- Burke
3. WAS- Bennett
4. CHA- Noel (If Noel misses the whole year, it has to be Charlotte that drafts him, right?)
5. PHO- McLemore
6. NO- Porter

I know it's unlikely, but I can dream, can't I? I like Burke and Len, but if they both go top 2 and Bennett goes top 5, it could mean something good for us.

i would not draft a big who just had major surgery and already is going to miss a full season.

we need pieces who can start to help now, not a few years down the line.

I have never been high on Noel, and am even more concerned reading this.

That being said, it would be pretty tough to pass on him if he is available at 6. I guess it would depend on who else is there, but if medical staff clears him he could be a hell of a value with a pick outside the top 5.

I'll have to get the Fark Board working on it.

FWIW the rumor I saw was them trading up for Burke, but I figured with Burke off the board that might make them even more desperate to trade up and take McCollum.

If McCollum, Burke, and Len are all off the board, I really hope Dell has some trades set up
