If I've listened to a couple of their tunes and kind of like them, does that mean I have shitty taste? TIA

No. It just means you haven't tasted what they basically copied:

Radiohead.

nope. and you should see them live. hell of a show.

and muse isn't that similar to radiohead except the fact that they're both brits.

VOR, what have you listened to that you like? I can recommend some more.

I guess all that stuff I have by Radiohead isn't really Radiohead. WTF? Who knew?

I agree. Bellamy and Yorke have a similar tone and pitch, but the music doesn't seem to that similar.

Like in the last decade or so?

Hard to pin it down. In the last couple of years I've liked the Lumineers, a couple of Muse tunes, The Kills, The Black Keys (all two of their songs . . . joke), Arcade Fire . . . that's going back about ten I guess , Alabama Shakes and others.

I always like blues influenced rock and roll played well.

Well if all the Radiohead stuff you have is by Muse, then, yeah, I guess it really isn't Radiohead.

I do agree that they are different, but as a radiohead fan, it puts off a sort of stigma that I can't get over.

I liked the first four albums, haven't gotten into the last two.
Absolution is my favorite and I found the sound on that album reminded me of Queen

I liked their resistance album. Their last one is okay.

Muse is a good band bro. Acquired taste perhaps but good none the less.

Like many others over time have seen success and their hits get played out on the radio.

Them and Radiohead are not at all the same.

Who cares. Music should be about personal enjoyment, not what makes me fit in the most

As quail man can tell you, my singular goal in life is to fit in. I'm extremely insecure.

Muse is straight forward true arena rock. Radiohead is alt rock.

Both bands great, but very different. Creatively give edge to Radiohead, technically Muse.

Im a pop guy so prefer Muse, dig some post ok computer radiohead but not my wheelhouse.

Jonny Greenwood laughs at this notion.

Matthew Bellamy is more classically talented than Greenwood. And certainly rocks harder says anyone with any musical sense ever

Why is Greenwood the one composing classical film scores and leading the London Symphonic Orchestra?

Paranoid Android's solo alone destroys anything Muse has ever done. Also you sound like a mega fanboy.

if you're trying to say the london symphony orchestra, then you're wrong...he is/was the "composer in residence" of the bbc concert orchestra.
