Mystery Diners-This Week-Deanies

I watched the tape. I'm fascinated by the restaurants in New Orleans who are doing this. This is the third one in about a month and the hokiest one yet. I could see the earpiece on the guy playing a waiter trying to catch the manager. They're not even trying to make this look real anymore.

It's painful to watch, really.

To me, the most mysterious thing about Deanies is that it stays in business.

Why? The one on Iberville is always packed. Its a fried seafood joint. How bad could it be?

Ha One is on now. That new place on Magazine St.
I don't know anyone who has ever eaten there. Maybe, because it's a touristy restaurant in a local neighborhood....
This show is trash.

Tourists. And, to be honest, it's not any worse than a lot of the half-assed fried seafood joints in South Louisiana.

That show was downright funny. I watched one early in the season. I check my tape now to see if the restaurant is in NO. If not, I delete, but I can't help watching the episodes about NO restaurants.
Deanie's is an average fried seafood joint but a busy one. I don't know why that guy allowed this show to come in either, but at least his didn't have any people rubbing the food on their breasts or eating off someone's plate. No food was really shown at all. I guess this owner was smart about it.

That was "Wild" Bill Dykes. Used to tend bar at Vic's. Featured in the post-Katrina No Reservations episode.

The one in Bucktown was always packed on weekends
I usually just went to Live Bait if I was in the area. The food wasn't great but it was good enough.
