Playing Florida every year

I've heard before that LSU and Florida football have some kind of contract where they play each other every year, and of course, they have played each other every year for years now. Do y'all know how this type of contract thing works, or could it ever be that instead of playing Florida every year, it would switch to say Vandy or Georgia?

That is not correct at all. The reason we play Florida in football every year is because the SEC headquarters is located in Birmingham.

Lol, why are y'all hatin on my question? I was just wondering if there is a chance we could start playing another SEC East team every year instead of Florida at some point.

In 1990-91, Arkansas and South Carolina joined the SEC. Upon their joining the SEC, the SEC split into two divisions. This was also when a yearly 'rivalry' meeting was determined for each East/West team to help in scheduling. We got stuck with Florida. Sucks, but it is what it is.

Meurseult, thank you, I appreciate you being cool about the question. Man, these message boards can get hostile, gotta pick my questions more carefully.
