No...not it's not. You and I are not on the same financial level, Mr. Agent.

as opposed to basing it off of 3?

At this point, they are basing it off his entire postseason career, which is excellent. Flacco is a decent QB, but he has been a terrific postseason QB, and that's what separates you from everyone else and gets you paid. I'm not thrilled with the Flacco deal, but I do think that Flacco had the Ravens by the short and curlies. If you're going to win in the NFL, you need at the very least a good QB. The Ravens couldn't let him walk, mainly because they had no one else.

But honestly, the Ravens have had a pretty strong offseason since they had to let their vets go. It's sad to see Reed and Lewis go, but they were near done. People are flipping out over Bolden, but if we want to talk about small sample sizes... Bolden has been pretty ordinary most of his time in Baltimore. thanks for the Super Bowl, but he's not a core piece. Go get paid. And they lost Kruger, Ellerbe, and Pollard and replaced them with Dumerville, Canty, Huff, and Spears. Sure, a step back, but not a huge one.

I think reports of the Ravens demise are greatly exaggerated. Besides, we knew that the Ravens window with the current roster was closing. Luckily, they got a SB ring out of it. But this rebuild had to happen, regardless. Even without a big Flacco deal.
