Why is the tourney semifinal one game elimination? Is that a new rule?

I thought y'all were going to have to beat Arky twice because they were undefeated. Glad for y'all that you don't have to play them again. It sucks for State

Obviously, y'all like it because you only had to beat them once. Although y'all probably would have beaten them again. But from a retrospect, do you like the new rule?

I think it's fair. Both had to win 2 to get to semis. Once you're there you know what's at stake.

I know the reason the changed it was to avoid the length of days. Plus, traditionally teams in the loser's bracket had an almost impossible task to get out of it. What LSU did a few years ago and lose the opener to Vanderbilt and then win five straight was unreal. I would be surprised if more than two or three times has that ever happened.
Additionally, it favors the higher seeds...it gives them more incentive to be a top four SEC seed.

it doesnt bother me. the undefeated teams have the upper hand by throwing one of their weekend guys, whereas the other teams are deeper in the pen. the teams know its single elim by that point, win the game

I'm ok with it bc at least the team in arky's spot has played three games giving their entire weekendrotation a chance to get work.

Hate the new format (even tho we benefitted from it today)
SEC tourney needs to be 8team set up identical to CWS format, with only difference being 1-game championship and no off days

conference expansion brings changes; this one sucks. they need to cut the teams down. a true 12 team double elimination would be terrible and ruin pitching staffs before the really important post season begins.

LSU told the SEC this morning they only wanted to play one game today.
