The British Museum was cool. They have the Rosetta Stone and Elgin Marbles there. Tons of other cool stuff as well.

See something on the West End. I was forced to see a few shows and actually ended up enjoying most of them. :nohomo:

Jack the Ripper tour at night was fun.

I'm looking to go at the end of September maybe. They have the whole Open House London weekend going. They open up a lot of different buildings but they haven't listed them yet.

Cool mane, definitely check out an Arsenal match if worth it to you. Also the free Sandeman's tours aren't bad, I've heard.

I may check out a match. Haven't looked into yet. Still trying to find the best area to stay and will let me walk around a good bit.

It's the left side. Not the wrong side.

Tayyab's is a great restaurant if you like Middle Eastern food. It's near the Tower of London. Also, have afternoon tea at Bea's. The owner is from the US and was holding a crawfish boil when we were there last September. We didn't go to that.

There are some hop on, hop off bus tours that you can take to get oriented and decide what you want to see at leisure. A river tour is included.

I liked the aquarium down near the London Eye. The Eye is expensive, but the view is great. There is also a replica of Shakespeare's Globe Theater, where they sometimes perform his plays, but you can get a tour if there isn't one playing. It's across the Thames from all the other touristy stuff. Nearby is the Golden Hinde, also a replica.

If you have time to go out of town (it's on the tube line), Greenwich has the Royal Naval Observatory and Maritime Museum and the Cutty Sark. You can stand on the Greenwich Meridian and get your picture taken. William Herschel’s original telescope is on display. It gave me goose bumps. One of the rooms in the Maritime Museum smells like crab boil. It has a display of spices shipped by the British East India Company.

Also, Kew Gardens is great if you like Botanical Gardens.

There's a small Chinatown there. I wish I could remember the name of the Korean restaurant Eau took us to (former Thai foreign exchange student now studying in England).

They have great Sunday roast at the restaurant to the National Gallery.

Harrod's is a must see, but Selfridge's is more the kind of place you can maybe afford to shop in.
