7-6 and unranked last year after starting out preseason #1. What does Kiffin need to do this year in order to avoid the Paul Hackett treatment? I see about 8-5 on this schedule, and I doubt that will be good enough.

He's on board until recruiting sanctions are over b/c Haden likes his recruiting plan - Kiffin pushed them forward and bought himself more time.

"Lane has done a fantastic job of having a plan," Haden said, "and visualizing how he's gonna get through it."

2015 USC will be free and clear and full strength with a class under its belt.

Sounds like Jerry giving his blessing to Barry Switzer.

Still gone without at least 9 wins.

They'll win the first 4 games by large margins. Scoring 50+ points.ESPN and all the college football experts on the MSB and radio/cable will all proclaim "USC is back". they'll instantly be thrown into the top 5 in most polls because of the hype.

most everyone, not working for ESPN or living in Cali, will have the commmon sense to realize it's only a matter of time before they lose a big game in dramatic fashion then fall off the Earth by losing several games late in the season they have no business losing. 2014 - rinse and repeat. 2015 - rinse and repeat. Same program, same coach, same story.

When you say 2015, are you refering having a full set of scholarships for Feb. 2015 or the 2015 football season?

Sanctions. Kiffin will be at SC for another couple seasons at least, until we can ride this out. Our AD isn't dumb like most fans; no great coach is gonna come in to a situation with a 55 man roster and recruiting class capped at 15. Kiffin will either figure out how to coach this season (doubt it) or we'll have a new coach in a couple years. Next season's record: yeah probably 7-6, 8-5.

Yep that's how it works. ESPN throws billions of dollars at the SEC, but secretly deep-down they want SC to win. That is exactly how big businesses operate.

His seat is extremely hot. His dad is gone since the d was so bad. If the play isn't greatly improved and they go to a better bowl, then they will most likely kick him on down the road.

With the divisions now, USC and ucla miss one of the Oregon and Washington schools every two years.

Thus, after USC has played Oregon and Washington the last two seasons, they have now switched over to Oregon State and Washington State.

USC can have a good season if:

They can adjust to a 5-2 Defense (especially the secondary), and get good-- not great-- QB play.

The new OL coach has done wonders already. There will be a lot of grinding on this team possibly.

Their season hinges on two games imo: Notre Dame and Oregon State. If they win those, they could have a crack at a big bowl or BCS game.

It's USC... they will be highly ranked to start the year, lose some games they have no business losing, and settle for a mid tier bowl.

Then the process will repeat itself next year.

I can see Baylor following a similar path this year. The first few games for them this year are weak, 3 scrubs in non conference and then the weaker Big 12 teams to kick off conference play. I could see them running up the score in the 60s or 70s for those early games and having the hype train behind them before they actually play teams in the Big 12 expected to contend for the conference title.

USC better not sleep on Utah State.

They were two close games (L 16-14 to Wisconsin in Madison and L 6-3 to BYU) away from being undefeated.

This is one of those trap games that can be a lot closer than the experts think.

If they end up being 8-5 like you say, he is 100% fired, as he should be. Kiffin is a garbage coach.
