My God. Maybe I haven't spent enough time in Jackson, but I just didn't see this coming. In Memphis, maybe, or the Delta, but Jackson?

Memphis has had it's share of crappy mayors, but some middle class whites still live in the city. Mid town and downtown are in decent shape and east Memphis is still home to most of the wealth in the county.

Even the old money in Jackson has packed up and left.....not just the middle class.

Jackson is in far worse shape than most cities in the region. I'm afraid it's still going the wrong direction.

I gotcha. So they've moved out to Madison/Ridgeland/Flowood just as Memphians have gradually drifted towards G'Town/Collierville/Cordova.

Lived in Memphis for four years. Didn't realize Jackson was on the same level. Interesting.

worse. The machine is run by fools who are clever but stupid. They are good at controlling everything but horrible at governing. Its going to get much worse. The Bennie Thompson bunch is going to loot the city as they've done the county.

when I saw the Kwame name, I thought of this guy. Absolutely incredible, and disgusting.
