I like it but I only get to go a few times a year. I catch them on rooster tails and getzits and road runners.

they will do work on a shiner.

mostly catch them on the little missouri

i caught these on crooked creek, it's a little creek around yellville, AR that isn't fished much. I love fishing for small mouth ,they fight hard for their size.

I would like to put some in my pond.

Would they make it through a louisiana summer?

hardhead, what part of the Little Mo do you catch them on? upstream or downstream of Lake Greeson? I went back in early March south of Lake Greeson but only caught spots, no smallies.

Man i don't mess with Eureka much, it's a fruity arse sideshow over there, so i don't know where to tell you to stay. the kings river is right there and it's fun to float, but to be honest i never really caught much on it, and there can be some WEIRD0's on that river.

I would suggest staying here LINK, these are really neat little cabins with a classy crowd and it's just 5-6 of them so it's not crowded. then go down to the buffalo or crooked creek to fish.

Eureka is neat it's just not for me. I will say don't stay in a hotel for sure, their are little cabins and tree houses and all kinds of neat places to stay so i've heard.

No, smallmouth wouldn't be able to handle a pond in Lousiana for several reasons, but first and foremost is the heat. Not to mention that the bottom composition wouldn't be conducive to spawning. Smallmouth aren't quite as adaptable as largemouth. Even up north most small ponds are going to have largemouth instead of smallies. That's been my experience anyway.
