Such a dumb move. I understand they want people to buy current gen games and not stick with their older games. But one of the main reasons the PS2 was so popular was everyone did not have to ditch their PS1 collection, or keep an old PS1 hooked up. And for people like myself who never had a PS1, I could go back and pick up old PS1 games.

If I remember correctly, the PS2 was still selling like hotcakes after the release of the PS3.

They are going to go the route of supporting the PS3 post PS4 launch.

It's a lot of work to get the next gen consoles to play current gen. If it keeps the costs lower, I'm all for no BC.

I'll still have my ps3 in another roo as a bluray player so I could just play my ps3 games on that.

Rarely do I go back to old games.

Metal gear solid series and the Nintendo classic series are the only two that really come to mind.

Does this apply to digital download as well?

We theorized earlier that if you have a digital copy of a PS3 game tied to your account, you should be able to play it on the PS4 since digital copies through their store will be the only way you can play last gen.

Nothing confirmed, obviously.

Yeah I don't really see this as a big deal. You obviously had the older system or you wouldn't want to play the games. Are you all of a sudden going to throw your 360/PS3 away? No. just play it on there.

Hell thats what I'll be doing for NCAA until they make a game for the next gens in 2014.

Yeah me neither. It would always be nice, but its not a deal breaker.

Like sicboy said tho, I am interested in how they will handles PSN purchased games on the PS4.

To add to that, what about the games you purchased through PS+. Since it is basically a rental service for any free games you buy, will those transfer over to PS4.
