Need a good Saturday night special to leave in the truck

Suggestions for a low priced handgun to keep in the truck?
$300 max price, but would definitely prefer less if I could get away with it. Definitely not looking for anything nice. Pretty much anything I can stick out the window and make it go bang.
Of course used guns are an option and I will be looking for one, but what are the options for a new one?

I'm I wrong/odd for thinking that I would want something high quality to have in the truck with me since it seems that there is a good chance that if I'd ever need a gun it would be when I'm in my truck?
