Well according to the pope, it doesn't matter if one 'accepts' or not. Apparently the blood of Jesus truly is enough to encompass ALL. Even the atheists, says the pope. LINK

At least that was my understanding of how it works back when I was superstitious.

That can't be what the pope said or meant...it's a complete contradiction to scripture...

That's what he said, looks like you'll have to just deal with it. No matter what, everyone is saved, sorry you can't preach your fire and brimstone and make everyone feel awful for not living their lives the way you want.

1 Timothy 4:10

"That is why we labor and strive, because we have put our hope in a living God, who is Savior of ALL people, and especially of those who believe."

There is nothing about that verse that is exclusive only to those who "believe".

Oh, I forgot its a members only type of thing, my bad.

What is clear is that many here on this message board have a problem doing any prayer, any worship, any service to God almighty.

to them it seems to be inconvenient to humble themselves ...to summarize these thoughts "it's annoying God would have us do this for him"..."no thanks" seems to be the response...

Frankly, many Christians didn't become Christians until life became very hard and desperate...

our nature I reckon...when everything is a slice of heaven in America, we become our own God...

Romans Chapter 1 addresses this very clearly

Well I am sorry to say but the words of Jesus recorded well before this pope came along trump what you may interpret or believe...

Doesn't matter what the pope said, what the Word of God says is the ultimate authority.

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Deal with it.

And you choose to interpret this as meaning only your church goes to heaven and everyone else goes straight to hell?

I don't have a problem with worship at all really, it's the cherry- picking certain things, valuing one scripture over another, that is problem. If you're going to preach your faith, you better live by its practices or face opposition.

I'm not atheist by the way. I simply have no clue as to what really happens once we consciously check out for eternity. I just try to provide for my family, and have some good times while I'm here.

what's annoying is that our god doesn't speak, is invisible (like the easter bunny), promises torment in hell if we are "bad" (without speaking), takes the lives of innocent children at random in a sometimes very gruesome fashion, and YET loves us unconditionally.

that annoys me a bit.

Do you really think that's why non-believers don't believe?

You sound delusional.

Not my church, but only those who accept Christ as their Savior. He can only be The Savior of all people to those who accept who He is.

Well the verse I posted, from your very same bible, says otherwise.

accepting christ is difficult when you see all the shite happening in the world.

he seems to failing tremendously since he has the almighty power to do ALL THINGS.

don't you think?

No it doesn't. It says "He is the Savior of all people". Doesn't say all people are saved.

You mastered the ability to read something, and completely alter its meaning in your head.

Lucky for you you weren't born in the Middle East, then you'd be a hardcore Muslim and would likely be headed to the firey pits of hell.

You know, if I'm ever in a situation where I can save someone's life, I don't think that I will make my actions contingent on the person I am rescuing acknowledging that I am rescuing him or her.

Kind of seems like a crappy thing to do.

No. Just look in this thread. Unbelievers outnumber believers what 10-1. And it's just going to get worse. Why would God intervene in any situation where people don't believe in Him?

Would you?

Maybe he needs to flood the Earth again to teach us a lesson. Worked the first time. Well, no it didn't. Guess he learned from that mistake and just gave up. I think god moved on. Formed another planet in a galaxy far away and populated it with nothing but flowers to masturbate to.
