do you actually have to see a game there to count or is seeing it in person good enough?

I like to keep track of stadiums I've been to but usually only count the ones I've actually seen a game in.

Does it need to be an official tally? There are rules?

I like to keep track, absolutely. However if I added stadiums I've just seen in person it would double my list. So yes, there are rules.

Standing outside of the superdome or seeing it on the horizon is a far cry from watching a game there. I guess it just depends what exactly you are trying to tell people.

It doesn't count if you haven't seen a game there IMO. A major part of the experience of historic stadiums is witnessing the vibe and excitement on game day. Especially if tailgating or something of the like is involved. I've been outside of Fenway in December and I've been in and outside of Fenway before a game in July. Completely different

I've been to a ton of MLB Stadiums. We used to take these big trips on a church bus every summer, all around the country. We didn't see a game at Kaufmann stadium, but we took a tour while passing through on the way to St Louis. Also went in Arrowhead. We would have seen a game there but they must have been on a road trip. So I don't count those.

I do. I've been in far more stadiums than I've actually attended games in. I've visited all 12 SEC stadiums (before Missouri and A&M screwed it up), but have only attended games at Alabama. So, I only count Alabama as me officially being there

Use three lists:

1. Venues I've attended sporting events in
2. Venues I've visited/toured
3. Venues I've seen in person

I only count stadiums where I witnessed a game.

I've mostly been in NFL stadiums.

For games of course.

According to the MSB, Jordan would only have won two rings without Pippen.

That's more legit than me claiming Lincoln Financial because I drove past it on the freeway when passing thru Philly.

I agree with that but in one case I took the tour of Safeco, didn't see a game. But I went into the press box, the locker rooms, suites, and even on the field.
