Dropped to 6 and still got Porter the way things fell. Cleveland getting #1 and taking Noel seems to be the key.

How did that work out? Cleveland get Noel at #1 overall?

Yeah,

Cleveland Noel
Minnesota McLemore
Phoenix Oladipo
Magic
Bobcats
New Orleans Porter

We also got McLemore at 6 and Burke at 5. Staying 5 or dropping to 6 isn't the end of the world, although things do have to fall the right way. Cleveland and Orlando have similar needs so if we don't win, one of them winning and taking Noel is important.

Playing around with it for a while, seems like he has our big board something like this:

Porter
Burke
McLemore
Bennett
McCollum
Oladipo

Here are his team by team odds/breakdowns(which will be meaningless in a few hours):
quote:

Orlando Magic

First choice: Nerlens Noel (25.0 percent chance of winning lottery)
Second choice: Trey Burke (21.5 percent chance of drafting second)
Third choice: Ben McLemore (17.7 percent chance of drafting third)

Charlotte Bobcats

First choice: Noel (19.9 percent)
Second choice: Ben McLemore (18.8 percent)
Third choice: Anthony Bennett (17.1 percent)

Cleveland Cavaliers

First choice: Noel (15.6 percent)
Second choice: Otto Porter (15.7 percent)
Third choice: Alex Len (15.5 percent)

Phoenix Suns

First choice: Noel (11.9 percent)
Second choice: Oladipo (12.6 percent)
Third choice: C.J. McCollum (13.3 percent)

New Orleans Pelicans

First choice: Porter (8.8 percent)
Second choice: Burke (9.7 percent)
Third choice: McLemore (10.7 percent)

I did it about 10 times and got different guys each time.

last time I did it, we got the #1 pick and had Otto Porter.

Do y'all think he's worthy of being #1?
i'm not big on Noel, Porter, McLemore, Shabazz, etc...
I do like Trey Burke, but he's no #1 either.

Is this the type of lottery that maybe its not a bad draw if you don't get the #1... Too much pressure on a kid that probably shouldn't be #1 overall?

I'd imagine its good trade bait, but who would give up anything worthwhile for that pick?

If you get #1 you try and trade back rather than take Porter.

I'd hate to pay #1 overall guaranteed money to anyone in this draft except McLemore

In a lot of ways, I'd much prefer #3 to #1, and the money is one of the reasons.

Most people don't consider stuff like that (similar to 31 >>> 29), but if you want space for FA, we need to save money on middling prospects.

I just don't feel like all that much separates the top 3-4 guys. Getting 3 is fine with me, unless we get #1 and are able to swing some kind of trade to drop a few spots.

this lottery simulator is crazy.

this last one had the Raptors making the leap to #2 and picking Anthony Bennett...
McLemore falling to us at #6
and Shabazz falling to #14 to the Jazz...

this whole lottery is wide open.
should make for an interesting draft.

and yes, I totally agree, 3 > 1

Agreed.

I don't agree with this one as much. People know this is a weak draft class for one. For another, none of the guys potentially going #1 overall play the same position.

Most of the busted #1s I've seen tend to be guys like Joe Smith, Kwame Brown, Andrea Bargnani, etc., who were one of several prospects at that position in that draft and had other players turn out significantly better.

We don't really have that this year, as the best at each position tends to be a good cut above the other guys at that position. The one exception to this I'm seeing is McLemore, as I feel Oladipo is in the same ballpark as him.

Why on Earth would we take Otto Porter (likely to be a solid starter over his career)over Ben McLemore (potential all-nba star)?

I think most of these results show there isn't much separation seen at the top and he has teams picking based largely on need.
