Anyone know what Billy Beane's salary was in 2002 before he got the $12.5 million offer from Boston?

I'm guessing it was a few hundred thousand.

Doesn't he only make a million a year now with owning a percentage of the team?

Think it was like 400K
It's in the book. The chapter talking about him trading for Rincon.

Wasn't the $12.5 over the course of a few years?

Whatever it was, he owed part of it to Tejada, Chavez, Hudson, Mulder and Zito.

I love it. Barely a mention in the movie of the incredible starting pitching.

No mention of that year's MVP AND Cy Young winner.

Just imagine if those two guys completely bought in to what the A's were trying to do and didn't swing at 38 and 34% of pitches out of the strike zone, respectively.

Well, it is a movie.
Read the book. They mention the overlooked qualities of a pitcher many times; including what the front office saw in each of Mulder, Hudson and Zito specifically.
