The python thread got me wondering about how many non-native things Louisiana has.
-Kudzu
-Popcorn trees
-Fire ants
-Nutria
-Hogs(feral but non native)
-Armadillos(not sure how long they been here, but don't think they are native)
What else?

Tallow Trees/(popcorn?)
Hydrilla
Water hyacinth
giant salvinia
horses
pheasant
I don't think armadillos are invasive. They just walked here. If that made them invasive, add white winged doves, fulvous ducks, crested cara cara, etc.

How about those tan geckos that come out at night. I never saw them as a kid and they are all over now...

What abut those Crazy ants from Houston area? Different chems needed to deal with them it's said.

Giant Salvinia
Japanese Climbing Fern
Privet
Feral/Trespass Horses
Chinese Tallow
There are a ton more non-natives as opposed to invasives.

Wasn't 100% on the dillos.
What's the deal with the horses. I've seen this posted before about wild horses in Louisiana. With the price of horses now I wouldn't doubt more are getting turned out.

-Nutria

(can't believe I remember that from a book report I did in elementary school)

Tabasco isn't the only thing the only thing the McIlhenny family gave to Louisiana...

Some good lists developing. Add:
Cogon grass (probably biggest threat to longleaf pine uplands)
Collared dove (now regionwide)
Austrailian spotted jellyfish (several population explosions in GOM)
Multiple species of Asian carp
Etc., etc.
Some species are widely established in urban environments but not yet a problem in natural systems (e.g., Monk Parakeet, Mediterranean gecko)
