God I hate this thing. Laziest plot device I have ever seen used by writers in my freaking life. Moffat is a fracking joke.
I thought he would elevate who to greater heights and the crap stick of deus ex machina is used more by him than the ridiculous craptastic levels of Davies.
In old who, the damn thing was a freaking screwdriver. New who it does everything from being a weapon to now being able to heal. Even though he never used it for healing in the past when poor innocent people died.
I don't understand why they can't come up with other ways to end a story or progress a story without breaking out and waving that lazy piece of crap!
I HATE MOFFAT even though he brought us Blink and The Girl in the Fireplace. Since taking the helm there hasn't been one fracking episode worth watching again.
Definitely a case of someone being better off in a supporting writing role as opposed to heading the show.
End rant!

Wha? Dude, what are you talking about? Tonight's episode was freakin' incredible. Best I've seen in a long time.

WTF are you people talking of?

Haven't watched tonight. I am getting caught up and the doc waving the driver to heal he and clara from the crimson crap was more than I can take.
And I stick by what I said. Not one rewatchable episode since Moffat took the helm.
OFFS. Now cybermen are Kwisatz Haderach with ultra speed and reflexes.

Really has to be someone else out there who hates the lazy wand as much as me.

Dr who has been shite, roughly since Donna became a companion.

Last night's episode was awesome. The best I've seen in years. You find out who Clara is, you get a glimpse of Gallifrey and the first Doctor departing. And you get glimpses of all the other doctors in the series . . . plus a surprise Doctor at the end.
You definitely need to watch if you're a fan.

The wand doesn't bother me. I tune it out.
However................... Why can't it work on wooden doors? The door has a metal hatch.

Do they not have K9 around anymore? That used to be what they'd use back in the day to get the Doctor out of impossible spots.

quote:How can you tune it out. He is CONSTANTLY waving the thing around. Hell, I think Smith has been more egregious with his wand waving than any previous doc even though Tenant used it just about as much he wasn't always wildly gesticulating with the damn thing.

I have some issues with Moffat's tenure running the show, but I call BS. The fifth season was very strong (other than The Beast Below and The Vampires of Venice)
The sixth season had The Doctor's Wife. I would put that up against pretty much anything the show has done since 2005.
The seventh season had Hide, Nightmare in Silver and The Name of the Doctor.

SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS
quote:This was all good, however, not sure it made any sense for the Doc to jump in after her. If she jumped in to save him and all his past actions then not sure how he can then jump in to save her.

quote:And given your Avatar you are fond of Smith, who I think has been terrible. Almost every single episode relies solely on the screwdriver.

For me, I have no interest in rewatching any of the Smith tenure and there are several from Eccleston and Tenant that I rewatch.
