Reid Ryan was introduced as president of the Astros today. He'll be in charge of business operations. Luhnow will have control of baseball ops.
Also the Astros are buying their AA affiliate Corpus Christi Hooks, previously owned and operated by Ryan-Sanders baseball.
quote:
@alysonfooter Reid: two goals- Put fans first. "If we take care of their best interests they'll take care of us." Second: take care of players.
quote:
@alysonfooter Crane says they're meeting with Larry Dierker Monday.
Also the Astros are buying their AA affiliate Corpus Christi Hooks, previously owned and operated by Ryan-Sanders baseball.
quote:
@alysonfooter 1h The Astros buying Corpus franchise accomplishes two things: first, the obvious: they run it and profit from it, just like any biz venture.
quote:
@alysonfooter 1h Two, there will be no need to negotiate contracts to have CC as the Astros affiliate. CC can't switch affliates, because the Astros own it.

Happy for the Ryan family. Incredible people. I think this will be the turning point for this organization.
