Do you foresee any behavioral issues due to this?

Eww that sucks. Well take it everywhere, get a crate, crate train it, then work on no, sit, come and stay.

I was reading through Water Dog, and I know people swear by it. It leaves a lot of unanswered questions. It doesn't suggest when to start on certain things or the order. Any other books that will take you start to finish?

Get the book by the monks of new skete called how to be your dogs best friend, it will help a whole lot with general training. I would suggest findin someone close by with a duck dog and get them to teach you how to teach your dog.

Biggest issue w getting a pup that young is, they forget they are dogs.....

The litter mates teach each other how to interact with others. For example: a puppy bites another one too hard while playing, the others will quit playing with that one and it learns to not be an a-hole to others. A puppy seperated at a young age (less than 8 weeks) is going to bite the shite out of you while playing if it hasn't been taught this by its litter mates. They are very impressionable about stuff like this at a young age.

It has been biting everything ... I just keep thinking its due to teething. Every time it tries to bite me I just grab it by his snout and hold it shut and forcefully say No.
Is this a good method to curb this

I do the same but wouldn't over do grabbing the snout because it is pretty young
Bill Hillman has a good puppy training video
Mike Lardy and Danny Farmer have great training videos for advanced stuff
Water dog leaves too many questions unanswered like you said
And the others are correct about plenty of socialization with other dogs because of what he will miss

Best dog trainers in the area you are welcome.

The method and harshness of correction depends on the dog, you just have to find what works. Sometimes if one bites you TOO hard you can just ignore it for a few minutes, others you have to damn near beat with a 2x4. Get a few toys, notice I said a few toys, 2 or 3 and make sure one is a bone, it will have something to bite besides you.

You can buy cheap paint rollers to use for retrieving
Cost less than puppy bumpers
Just don't let it have them unless you are training for retrieves
Keep it short. Like 4 or 5 times Stop while they still want more

I've always had good success with putting their paw in their mouth and then gently squeezing it shut. Usually only have to do that once or twice then they learn that shite hurts.
