For whatever reason I never liked the guy and thought he was always overrated. Total dick move by asking the Mavericks to release him this year to "spend time with his family" only to turn around and sign with OKC two months later just bc he and everyone else thought they were a shoe-in to the Finals.

Glad to see it blowing up in his face. I know Cuban is loving it

he did the exact same thing to Utah a few years back using the family excuse and jumped ship to the Lakers just in time for their finals year in 2007-08.

I've never liked the guy either. seems like a douche and is a liar.

he deserves it. i wish h had a year left on the books and got traded to the bobcats next year. ...and never released for "family reasons".

Yeah. It is totally blowing up in his face. It's not like he doesn't have multiple rings to console him.

this is true, but all of his rings are due to front running. he has never once been apart of a team that wasn't pushed to the top by the NBA and the sports media. Fisher has always jumped ship to be apart of the media darling teams.

basically .... his rings are nothing more than glorified food stamps.

something like that. however he lied to Utah and used the lame excuse that he needed to be closer to Los Angeles for the hospitals there whenever Utah had just as good (and likely better) options in the same area.

Not to mention he's been in Dallas and OKC lately which is even further from L.A..

Shaq certainly shouldn't you're right, but Kobe definitely should.

Shaq was the heart and soul of those Lakers teams and was the ONLY reason they won the finals back to back to back. Kobe and Fisher were just fans along for the ride.

you wouldnt know if you didnt know! he is clearly the most aggressive ring chaser in history. 6 different teams in 7 years.

How many big shots did Fish make that, if he didn't, the Lakers wouldn't be on their way to a title?

I think Fisher is jealous of Robert Horry and his seven rings. at least Horry didn't lie to his teams and jump ship to the media darling teams every chance he got. he just kept getting traded to the right team at the right time

yes, she is supposedly why he asked out of Utah

he also refused to play for Houston when traded there and after getting released he signed with OKC near the end of 2012

do you really want to argue this? as if no other player could have stepped up and played that SMALL, TINY role that Derek Fisher has?

sure he has knocked down some big shots in his career, but so have most other role players. to say, or to even hint that Derek Fisher is the reason why the Lakers won their championships is downright absurd. that would be like giving Greg F'N Ostertag credit for the Utah Jazz making it to the NBA finals back to back in the 90's
