1. President of the team resigns after being a total PR flop for 18 months. No clear replacement in view.

2. Our only two legitimate Major League players both get injured and leave the game against detroit!

3. Our starting OF are all hitting bubbling just over Mendoza line

The Astros are not going to claim the worst record distinction without a fight. The Marlins are not trailing far behind. .

Ryno you should jockey for the Astros Team President job. I'm sure you'd do great.

I'll post in this thread the same thing I asked in the other one about the CEO. If anyone feels like answering, I'd be interested in hearing a LEGIT response.

quote:

Here or on the Houston blogs I have gotten no response to what would be the alternatives. All I get are guys still whining about Crane folding and giving in to Selig and moving to the AL.

Wasn't that the terms of the sale, basically? Move to the AL and the sale will be approved. If not, no bueno.

So, as I've been asking here and all over some Houston blogs, people who are claiming that Luhnow and Crane aren't doing enough, what are the alternatives? From where you are sitting, what were the Astros in position to do to "field a competitive team?"

Because with this forgotten farm system, there was a split rly no talent just 2 years ago and ranked dead last in the majors as far as minor league talent goes.

Anyone? Bueler?

I'm not trying to be a smartass, if just like to know which way the Astros could have gone to get to be a 70 win team this year. What money could have been spent and on who?

Crazy to see how far this team has fallen since 2005.

It wasn't easy.

It took 100% commitment to sucking as much as possible on as many levels as possible, 24/7.

Serious dedication to making as many bad decisions as could be made.

Glass half full...

I can buy upper deck tickets for $10 and sit behind the dugout for most games.
