worst going to and winning the Super Bowl?

(whole title wouldn't fit)

Should make for an interesting read. I would think it's harder to see a guy like Aaron Rodgers going 0-16, but then could you see a guy like Blaine Gabbert winning the Super Bowl? Even if he had all the best players around him, it's hard to see him winning it. At one point you'd need your QB to make some plays.

Brad Johnson won a Super Bowl. There's your answer.

latter

a top 3 QB is worth 5-6 wins a year with no supporting cast

think about how close mark sanchez was

plus, a mediocre QB just led a team to the title last year

Easily the worst Quarterback winning the Super Bowl.

It's next to impossible to think that a Brady, Brees, Manning, Rodgers, Ryan, Flacco, going 0-16, when we have had less than stellar (not worst in the league) win Super Bowls.

But here's the thing about the Sanchez argument.

He didn't go to the Super Bowl. Close doesn't count in football.

yeah it's not really close. If the odds were made for each it would be pretty lopsided.

The fact that he was a count hair away should be enough to settle the argument.

How close to 0-16 has a great QB ever come?

It's like the old "A 16 seed will never beat a 1 seed," argument. The fact that it has almost happened should be enough to convince someone that it's possible.

Rex Grossman did, this is a stupid question. Manning and Brady would win games with any team.

I think we only have two win less teams of the "modern" NFL era.

The 1976 Tampa Bay Buccaneers

and

The 2008 Detroit Lions

Now this feat has only happened twice (and correct me if I am wrong) but has there ever been the case of a great, or even a good quarterback losing all their games in a season.

We have a list of Rypien, Dilfer, Johnson, Williams, Hostetler, and others, who while not the worst, managed to capture a Super Bowl title.
