but his contract says he´s free (can leave with no penalty due), if Real Madrid comes calling..............

Wow.

Atlético de Madrid gets €55M from Mónaco, so I would be very worried now, were I a scouser.

So when Ronaldo goes to United, Real Madrid will be a pairing of 2 of the 3 top goalscorers from this last EPL season?

I don´t comprehend, kimosabe. I´m sure I´m slow on this, but please, flesh it out.

Ronaldo goes back to ManU, Real buys Suarez (since they didn't get Falcao and Higuain is gone) and Bale to replace CR.

Cristianito is not leaving, and Suárez will go to Atlético de Madrid.

Bale will go to Real Madrid. IMO.

Monaco is serious. All they needed was to get promoted this year...that club is going to be the next PSG in terms of cash money.

Suarez to Atletico, eh? That would be interesting.

I agree with the other two. Don't see United snapping up Ronaldo now that SAF is retiring and Mou is hitting the road.

Yeah, I mean the whole being in the french league but not paying taxes like the rest of them = pure win.

Fun as heck to play with on Football Manager. Ligue 1 is an interesting league virtually...I only catch PSG matches and the occasional OL or OM match IRL, though.

Word in Spain is that Falcao will leave in the Winter transfer window, for Real Madrid.

Basically, Mónaco will be keeping him in shape.

Haven't Monaco and Atletico both said that this is just a rumor?

Negotations have been going on since November of 2012, and the deal was done the third week of April. The 20th of April, according to reports, to be exact.

I´d suppose Atlético said nothing, as they had to get a striker of similar stature, and weren´t sure financially how to do it.

This deal obviously clears the way for Suárez, but Atlético had been hoping that the country of Azerbaijan would pony up something (being the sponsor of Atlético). Negotations with any country are painfully, painfully slow,so I can see how they wanted to keep this hush hush, so as to avoid Azerbaijan from replying that their money wasn´t needed for a Suárez signing.

And I thought it was really funny to see a major car company (Chevrolet) reportedly making backroom deals to help United sign a player.

Now to read about a government doing this...ah, football.

Like all countries, except the good ole US of A, Azerbaijan loves football, Atlético has camps there, and above all, is promoting the country vis a vis their sponsorship agreement.

It behooves Azerbaijan to see Atlético go far in Champion´s League.

I´ll have to google (why don´t you, damnit!).

the ´stans´ are the ones with oil, I think they have some, not alot, and are a former Ottoman Empire área, as well as of the defunct Soviet Unión.

Caucasians, but Muslim, is my guess. Caucasian as in Caucasia, I don´t have an idea as to their genetic makeup, but it´s probably similar to all the Russian steppes.

According to Wiki, Azerbaijan is the birthplace of the petroleum industry and is currently trying to make a comeback as a top player in the world. It currently ranks #20 in the world in petroleum production, so I was sorta right.

I knew a guy who went to Azerbaijan a few years ago. I faintly remember him saying something about the oil money over there.

So, Repsol and well, Repsol (as I believe they bought out Cepsa), should be doing well there.

They are the Spanish oil companies, or company.

Maybe they´ll cut the check for Suárez.
