So some sort of ratings still need to justify their existence.

Word is when Sony gets close to the magic 100 number for syndication deals they practically pay the networks to renew and get the deal done. NBC also really really liked the pilot for a new Sony drama called Blacklist and wants it bad so Sony is using this as a negotiating tool right now.

NBC still needs to fill programming hours.
it's a fricking shame that this show would be 'filler' in their mind

not bitching at you, i know what you meant.

i don't think this season has been nearly as good as the first three, but i've enjoyed it nonetheless, possibly because i can't look at it objectively anymore. if by some miracle, they were able to finagle #6seasonsandamovie, well, i'd jimp jimp jimp all day long

Not sure about Firefly but AD didn't really gain it's current cult following until it showed up on Netflix and such.

well neither got their current cult following until later, but AD did have a lot of fans during it's run, just not enough

Go on getting renewed?

Please make it so.

Not looking good according to TV Line

It went from "A sure thing" to "A safe bet" to "Could go either way". It's sliding down.

If Fox cancels you for low ratings you know it's bad. I always thought shows had a better shot there than any other networks though that has changed in the last few years maybe.

well they fricked firefly from the get go. they showed it in a completely random and retarded order.

what's funny about AD is the day after they opened the official twitter account a couple months ago, they tweeted "and with one tweet, this account has more followers than the show originally had viewers"

Awesome. I didn't know that about Sony, and hadn't read that about their other pilot.

As recently as three or four years ago Jerry Seinfeld was still the highest earning comedian per year in the world based mainly off Seinfeld syndication

It was either I Love Lucy or Andy Griffith that is said to be on at least one station every minute of every day.
