Deadly Dudley bay chovie, salt and pepper with chartreuse tail, I think they call it "white".
H&H tko shrimp pink with chartreuse tail.
H&H cocahoe minnow black with either a white or chartreuse tail.
Usually if I don't have any luck with these 3, they aren't biting.

H&H was my go to for years.
Lately Deadly Dudleys have been working better though.

Too high dollar for me.
Not too mention when if you leave them on a hook it turns into a petrified turd.

It's been too damn long since I fished specks and reds.
But the strawberry/white tail cocahoe did me right for years.

Found this out the hard way. Had to cut it off with fricking bolt cutters.

I have been hearing that people have been doing real well with the mirrorlure lil johns in the Venice area.

Been using bayou chubs lately, work pretty well. Still have a box full of H&H Cochahoes. Electric chicken for reds works well. Purple / gold work for both. Strike King Spinner bait for reds.
I also use Gulp from time to time.

i've pretty much always used gulp under corks when yak fishing. i want to get away from gulp just because of cost and try and use regular swim baits.

Gulp is definitely a good bait, it's just too expensive and not very durable for me to use.

The only time Gulp has worked for me is when I can get schooling fish bitting on live bait in a frenzy.
Otherwise it's no better than any other plastic.

I can't stand spinner baits for some reason. It seems like they're always catching a bunch of garbage and screwing up my retrieve.
