Great post. Very thorough. Things like this should be stickied.

I just don't understand exactly what they are doing with construction across Nicholson from the New Box to add parking? Is that what they're doing? I park and tailgate across Nicholson for baseball because it's more spread out, plus there are trees and grassy area to hang out after parking your truck on concrete, not in mud like Hayfield. Any further detail on this would be appreciated. I havent been able to figure it out yet.

I think that was just drainage work.

The UREC field expansion is gonna take away over half of the Gourrier gravel lot. Maybe that's what they're talking about?

Why the hell we need such a large tennis facility? I mean, that thing is fricking huge. Is tennis that important?

Serious. What's next? A volleyball complex? They should make shopping centers for the football players or something.

I'm all for having the best football facilities humanly possible, but I'm also for not having the shittiest facilties in the SEC for our other sports facilites. I havent stepped foot in the new softball park yet, but I know I've only heard rave reviews about it and know it will be beneficial for the long term growth of that sport. I hope other "meaningless" sports can follow suit.

The plan was to privatize it like the UClub, but I think they're just going to downsize the facility now and move forward. But seriously, why would you even comment if that is your input to the thread?

It's just drainage work across Nicholson. The dirtwork between Nicholson and the Box is for a new parking lot. In the coming weeks, construction will begin on adding to/modifying the ball field complex at the intersection of Gourrier and River Rd.

Grassy area along Nicholson right next to box. Not across the street. Same side of the street.

I moved to BR in 04. There has never not been construction. It's actually pathetic how slow LA is with construction. not just LSU. I love how they'll have all summer to finish something, yet will continue to make slow progress during the fall when this town has an influx of people it doesnt have in the summer and spring.

Yes Im one of those that paid for the new union to never experience it. And im glad i didnt. got rid of the pool tables, arcade and bowling alley. frick that.
