Just got to watching it and didnt see a thread
This show is on a roll right now, this episode was hilarious as was last weeks. Nick had me rolling, but Schmit dancing killed me
I hate the Schmit- fat ex girlfriend thing overall though, i get theyre trying to progess his character a bit but its kind of stifiling his humor outside of the flashbacks.
I was afraid they were going to blow the Nick-Jess thing up because of the father thing (which made no sense because they werent engaged or anything )but im glad they didnt, i like them together for some reason
Also Winston gets better every episode, he used to be useless but is now a solid side character

quote:I kind of think the opposite. I don't think they're progressing his character at all. We know he's not gonna end up with that girl, so I think this is just kind of filler until we finally get "the scene" between him and Cece.

quote:I agree. I remember complaining about how they were writing Winston. Until this season, he really had no point in being there. He does still float a little and he's the only regular cast member you could cut from the show without it affecting anything that's going on. But they have given him some really fun stuff to do this season. His funny stuff has actually been hilarious and not just corny like it used to be, imo.

I just mean they are trying to progress or mature his character which would take away his humor imo
I think she is there to show Schmit his insecurities, his narcissism, and self absorption that make him a crazy person ad grow past that, which would suck because his insecurities, narcissism, and self absorption is what makes Schmit one of the best/funniest characters on TV.

I like Winston's character, but can't help to think how I would like it more if it was Damon wayans jr....bet he is wishing he would have chosen new girl over happy endings....I'm assuming happy endings gets the axe soon.

I agree. Although I do like him on Happy Endings too.
But he's 10x better then the "new" Winston.

"her name is...yolanda winston:
Cece was hilarious when she busted into her Indian side spouting off all kinds of stuff...tjen "I'm getting married tomorrow and I look like Mike Tyson!"
Schmidt..."hey Gepetto, make w/ the oompa-pa"

Hes hard to top
My parents watch the show and they HATE schmit. They think hes is just so unfunny. I dont see how thats possible

I think i read it considering i quoted it.

Well then you misunderstood what i meant by it
Posted on 5/8/13 at 11:38 am to wildtigercat93
you said he was useless and i pointed out an episode solely written for him that he nailed. To me it is the best episode of the series.

But at that time (which was like last season i believe) he was inconsistent. Hed have that episode, but surrounded by a ton of episodes that he was forgettable
That episode was the first episode he really showed potiential and hes gotten better/more consistent since.

agreed. I have always said the first season was the worst and the show is lucky it made it through. The show writers were trying to make it a one person show like The Mindy Project. And Zoey just wasnt humorous enough to keep it going. They finally came to senses and made the show more about the group and not her.
ETA: The Mindy Project has gotten a lot better once they have been writing Morgan in a lot more. But it is still more of a show about her and not about a group like the new girl has become.

Yea once they toned down her, all the other characters flourished
