I have been fortunate, the worse thing I ever did was wash but not clean an ice chest that once held fish. Sent it back to the friend unknowingly, who threw it in the hot storage room for a week before discovering it. Ice chest was sent to the dump...

well the other day I had a bass that i didnt see in the livewell, got all the rest out and drained it. he had swallowed the hook and bled out so he wasnt flopping around.

luckily i went to spray out the livewell with the hose and saw him, but that would have been bad if he would have stayed in there for a week or two decaying, cant imagine how that would have smelled

My buddy had an ice chest with some reds, flounder, and dead shrimp that went bad and he put it in my truck bed. Unknowingly, I opened it in the parking lot after my brother's graduation, the entire lot cleared out and people were gagging. Drove straight to river road, dropped the tailgate and floored it

Couple doves got folded up in a folding chair. After a week or so I finally found the smell.

I forgot about some cocahoes in the live well. We left the boat in the slip for about 3 weeks, when I opened the live well it was an instant barf. Now I always remember to check the live well before we leave.

Found a quail in one of my jackets in first grade, proceeded to throw it across the classroom. My dad still laughs about that one. Another time, me and brother stuffed our pockets with crawfish claws because we wanted to make knives, mom found them a few days later

Cleaned salmon the other day (a friday) after a fishing trip, put the carcasses in a trash bag and into the can. Must have thrown the bag on top of something sharp that punctured the bag. By the time trash day (thursday) rolled around the neighbors hated me.

There was the time as a kid when we went to Destin. I had been fishing and put shrimp and baloney in the tackle box. Dad finally located the smell after about 4 days...

Dead skrimpses after a trip to GI. Cleaned all the fish and fell asleep forgetting about the skrimp. Found them about a week later in the back yard because of the swarm of flies. By far the worst smell I have ever come across.

Went fishing with a buddy in high school, and we had my dad's little cooler with some drinks in it. We were just planning on messing around and not actually keeping anything. My friend caught a nice sized catfish, so we just took the cans out and put the fish in there. He took it home and had it for dinner. But forgot to wash out the cooler. A few weeks later I was over there and asked about it. Went out to the carport where it was sitting, opened it, immediatly slammed it shut, and took it straight to the trash can.

Got a drunk and dumped some of my crab traps in the live with intentions of going bullred fishing. Got into some trout and forgkt about bullred fishing. Long story short they stayed there for 2 weeks during the summer. Black water with maggots worst experience ever. I threw up the whole time.

Left a dead rattlesnake in the bed of one of the ranch trucks for a few weeks over the summer when I was a little kid. My dad made me dump it when we went back and hose out the back of the truck. Probably the worst smelling thing I have ever experienced.

Had a breaker flip in my shop a few years ago in the summer. I had a stand up freezer with some sealed items (peas, corn, etc.). Unfortunately, I had a banded mallard and also had a pintail in hose ready to take to taxidermist.

The smell was so bad I initially smelled it from outside the building while the freezer was closed.

I am pretty cheap and have a strong stomach, so I decided to try to clean it out to salvage it. Bad mistake. I soaked a buff mask in something (don't recall) to try to mask the smell. Put on rubber gloves, grabbed some bleach and baking soda and went forth.

My first three or four attempts at salvage resulted in me throwing up in my backyard...which my wife found to be hilarious.

I decided it would be much easier to just go to Lowe's a purchase a new freezer.

In high school, some "friends" put milk cartons in all of the spare instrument cases and tuna fish in the ceiling of the band room because they despised the teacher, they almost had to demo the wall because they thought an animal died in the wall. I'll never forget the principal coming in and talking to the class, "We are sorry that you have to practice in the auditorium, but we are in the process of having the wall torn down." Teacher: "Do they think a squirrel or rat is the cause?" Principal: "No... This is much more serious... Much larger... We're thinking raccoons." Teacher: "Oh my."
Had to be there, but I damn near lost it.

missed a dove in my vest and threw it on the back seat of my truck. Didnt use my truck for 2 weeks and it sat in the hot September sun. Dove had turned to liquid.

Also had a pack of deer breakfast sausage frozen roll under my front seat. also stayed there for 2 weeks.

Often in the summer if I get in my truck i can still smell them
