The NFL VIewing Experience Live vs Watching at Home

Make no mistake, for championship games, you absolutely want to be there live but over the last few years I have moved to wanting to watch them at home. Why pay $100 plus for nose-bleed seats in tightly confined areas when you have to stand up every 5 minutes to let someone pass when you can relax on your coach at home? You don't have to wait in line to get over-priced food or go to the bathroom and can flip to different games during the down time of games. In addition, you don't have to drop $20 to park. The NFL has made the Sunday Ticket so popular that I can eventually see it hurting the actual attendance of games down the road.

Last year when they sucked you could but when I went to the Panthers game during the 13-3 season (last game of the year when they already were in the playoffs), the cheapest was $120 for a pointless game.

I havent been to an NFL game in nearly 5 years. Last time I went it was in a luxury box for free. It was nice, but id rather be at home.

So much fail.
If you're paying $100 for nosebleed, you're doing it wrong.
If you have to pay that much to park and can't split that with your friends you went to the game with, you fail.
If you can't afford beer at the games, you shouldn't be there. BTW, just about all stadiums have good beer available these days.
Sunday Ticket will cause people to stop going to games as soon as the cassette tape destroys radio.

Seattle has an awesome gameday experience. I would say it's worth it if you can get them for face value. I really want to go to the Sunday night game against the 49ers, but the cheapest ticket right now is $216.

I get your point, but sucked is a strong word for Saints fans. Last year was probably a top 15-20 season in Saints history as far as records are concerned

Even so, the tickets were a lot cheaper for those other seasons.

So you're complaining about the laws of supply and demand?

My biggest issue with going to a Saints game is the simple fact that its on a Sunday. I dont have a problem at all going to LSU games an drinking beer all day then to the game and stay somewhere that night to come home the next day. To try and do all that on a Sunday? Nope.

the only thing i like better about watching at home is cheaper beer/food and no line for the pisser.
But nothing beats the tailgate experience which i drink and eat plenty of cheap beer and piss in the woods.

I have season tickets. I pay $250 for the year, and thats with 2 preseason games.
I dont care what you have to buy them for

Add the fact that I live on the Northshore so I'd have to get up early and sit in traffic instead of hop out of bed in front of my tv.

how is this much different from college football?

I used to have Sunday Ticket and its overrated imo. If I were living outside the region of where the Saints games were shown on a weekly basis then yeah, I'd get it.

Well please explain to me how to stop "failing"
I generally fly in for a couple games a year. Tickets have been quite high since sb season. I buy my tickets before coming into town to ensure I have one.

It's all about the Gameday experience and atmosphere. Some people care about that, some don't.
If you've never been to a prime time home game in the dome, you are severely missing out. One of the best times you can have. Not to mention saying you we're actually there on nights like the first game back in the dome after Katrina, or being there when Hartley kicked us to the Super Bowl. Those are pretty special moments you'll never forget

I finally had to give up my tickets this year as other things became a priority. If I could have down graded seats I would still be going.
I loved my section, hanging out with friends before the game, the whole experience.
Now there were a few games I probably would have preferred staying home for, but overall I'll take having tickets vs. not anytime.
If you complain about parking, beer prices, etc. it's more of an issue with your budget, not the experience.
