Xbox live gold memberships - cheap online?

Guy at gamestop told me you can buy gold membership online really cheap... Like a 12 month for $20 or something but he wouldnt tell me the website, just said its easy go on google.

I've never seen it THAT cheap, but maybe I just don't know where to look. $40 is kind of the target price when looking. At least for me.

My sub is up in a few weeks. I really don't want to buy a year if it won't role over to the new xbox

Do we know if the subscriptions will continue on? It's still going to be the same Xbox live gold service so I can't imagine current subscriptions wouldn't carryover.
