Robin Givens and Don King had more to do with that loss than Buster Douglas

I still remember, before the fight, Merchant walking through the Chinese fish market talking about how Douglas has no shot and in the end, Douglas is just another fish in the fish market. It was when Merchant said that that I thought he was truely the biggest prick on the planet. I was rooting so hard for Douglas just so Merchant would look like a dumbass. To this day, that's the first thing I think of when people talk about that fight.

Didn't Buster lose the next fight to Holyfield?

Sad, Tysons corner was a complete joke that night. Absolutely awful. Humpty dumpty fell off the wall that night, and never got put back together. He's my generations Ali.

Sucks really.

Didn't king dump his trainer? I think it was his first fight without him.

Kevin Rooney. Tyson was never the same after that.

No one ever mentions Douglas dedicating that fight to his mom who had passed before the fight.

yeah, IMO Tyson would not have been able to age gracefully as a boxer because he lacked the height and reach to compensate for loss of quickness with age... but he really would have had a longer peak if King hadn't meddled with the trainers that helped get Mike to the top.

My dream fight would have been Iron Mike Tyson vs Smokin Joe Frazier, both in their prime. They could have cut the ring in half because neither of those brawlers needed more than that to do their work on the other.

Watch his fight against Lenox Lewis. That was an EPIC beating and I felt bad for Tyson and wanted them to stop it at one point.

Tyson really could take a punch.

Yeah I gained respect for him after that, even though he lost. Beat on him like a punching bag, and he refused to go down

I loved watching Tyson's corner trying to reduce the swelling on his face by using a latex glove filled with ice water.

It was such a joke. But hey, Don King got rid of all the experienced white guys that got Tyson to the level he was at and surrounded Tyson with nothing but black dudes
