not trying to champion the song, I thought it served its purpose at the time.

I think the answer is no, at least not in the way it was done in 1985 where everyone from a kid to a grandma knew the song.

I agree, like you, I had no idea that 2010 version even existed... and didnt know 1/2 the people who were singing...
